How do you post Polls?

I was wondering how do you post polls? I tried and it didn't work...

If you want to post a poll you have to decide to do that very first thing.
Down below the text box there is an option to post a poll. The way it works is first you have to write your post, then you go back and add the poll. But if you don't check the box that says "Yes, post a poll with this thread" then you can't change it once you have posted.
