One of the reasons I chose to go into pet sitting as apposed to working in a veterinary hospital is that I would not have to deal with pet loss on a fairly frequent basis.

I've been doing pet sitting for 15 years now and many of my clients pets have become part of my extended fur family. Saddly during my years of caring for these wonderful dogs and cats, some have crossed the Bridge. Yesterday I went to call on one of my clients two greyhounds and learned that she had lost her beloved Beezus the cat. This was my clients second loss in just over a month. Last month she lost one of her three greyhounds (Pearl) ...

I'm still getting use to Pearl not being there to greet me at the door, and lean against me for cuddles ... now I will also miss the little tap of a paw against my leg ... which was Beezus' special greeting. Rest in Peace sweet kitty.

Aww, My thoughts are with you,and the family. It is a tough thing to go through to loose one pet, but two. I know it is rough!

:( I'm so sorry. RIP sweet critters.

I know what you mean about getting attached to others' animals. I feel like my friends' animals are a part of my extended family too. It must be exactly the same even though they are clients. Very sad.

I have grown attached to some pretty special dogs and cats during my years caring for other peoples pets. Any one of them I'd have gladly claimed to be my own. I guess having recently lost my 13-1/2 year old Aussie Zephyr it just brings the sorrow my clients must feel all the closer. Their loss is mine as well ...
