Hi I was just woundering why when you join this site you start with 10 rep points???? I think you should start with none,that way you have the number you really earned not what you started off with.

Well, good point! But I think if you start at 10, you will get like a head start! For example, What if someone doesn't get any REP points and then they will feel left out. It's just my opinion, but i think that 10 Rep points to start on is a head start! :rolleyes:

Oh I just thought of it this way ,they get 10 rep points for joining the best site ever! :p :)

Everyone starts with 10. :) It's fair that way.
Everyone's rep power is 1, meaning when you give rep you only are able to give one point that way it is fair as well.

I actually wouldn't mind seeing everyone start with 0 so the number shown reflects the number earned. My understanding of the 10 rep starting point is that it's a buffer against receiving negative rep points. We have that option (giving negative reps) diabled, so the buffer doesn't serve much purpose.
If it ever does change, it will change across the board to be fair to everyone.

I sort of like it more how it is because some people feel welcome that they have any:)
Oh and I dont think I would want a negative one!!!! Because some one stupid could just could come along and give you heaps of bad ones...
