So the puppies got their first experience w/ fresh air today. It was actually pretty exciting. I took them onto Post with me today to see AJ and show the puppies to several other soldiers. 3 of the 4 puppies have already been spoken for by soldiers and will go after they're ready. I had to sneek them down to my car for starters *laughs* (since i'm not supposed to have puppies in the apt) and they all were in the hatchback w/ TIkaani. (she's a pain to get into the car...but once she's in she's excited as ever to be going for a ride). Naturally they were noisy the whole drive over and the gate guard looked at me funny when I pulled up and he heard crying puppies and mom howling lol. (she howls like crazy when she gets excited) AJ brought several other soldiers out to see the puppies and everyone was coo'ing over them and one of the soldiers that's adopting our black/grey puppy was so excited to get to hold him. They all behaved sooooo well and just loved all the attention they were getting and seeing all the new people. And best of all, Tikanni was even well behaved. As soon as she jumped out of the car she didn't mind people oogling over the puppies and holding them and even let people pet herself. Once she got back in the car w/ the puppies though she got a bit more defensive. That all said and done, I gave them some water and we headed home (unfortunately Tikaani gets car sick so easily...i won't describe what I cleaned up lol) but as soon as we got home and they were all back in the playpen I got them some more water and they passed out immediately, even Tikaani. It was a heck of an experience for them and luckily it's been really cool here lately b/c it rains a ton at night and is overcast all day so it wasn't hot for them at all.
They're getting their first shots next week and I may stop by the Post again since not all the adoptive families got to see them today. Just thought I'd share b/c I was so excited at how well behaved all of them, especially Tikaani, were today. :D
