Being the picture is of a young pup it is very hard to tell. The pup looks like a cross. Do you have any otehr pics ?

thanks for the nice welcome, i'm thinking of getting a dog in the nearish future so hopefully this place will be useful for me :)
thats the only picture i have of it... it was actually just one i got off GIS but i think its a fantastic looking puppy and i was interested what breed(s) it is

Gosh it is so small it would be guessing wildly till its ears and body developes, but soooo cute however. Welcome to the Dog Forum, hope you stay with us and enjoy. Send some pics later, that is a nice one but being such a small pup yet, maybe the ears will go up stright it will give us a better idea. Good luck.:D

A cute one :) nah it does look like some kind of crossbreed, but its hard to tell with it being so small. Hope you enjoy the site!

Hi Tom and welcome,
No idea what the pup is. Like Doberman's said it is really hard to tell when they are small. From the color I want to say "Pug", but the snout is not as flat as a Pug.
But coloring can be deceptive. Take a look at these pics of German Shepherd puppies

except for the color they look very similar. On the other hand, they are ALL cute at that age! :)

Tom, what sort of size are you looking for in a dog ? Would you like a smallish dog or a larger one ? There are many breeds that have that colouring. What sort of activity level in a dog are you looking for ?

i need something that is pretty small (i live in an apartment), and also quiet for the same reason... something around border terrier size or even smaller. I don't want it to be a hugely active dog, though I would be able to keep it with me throughout most days (I'm self employed and work outdoors), so it wouldn't be abandonned in the apartment too frequently.
I just thought that one looked exceptionally cool and it pretty much typifies the kind of 'looking' dog i'm after

K let me see here:
Basenji's are cool dogs, they are smallish, and do not bark, they do growl and yodel, they do need daily exercise.

Manchester terrier's look like little Doberman's but they ar not. They are well suited for apartment living and fairly easy to care for but look nothing like you pic.;)

The Papillion is also a small dog that is not generally yappy, can adspt to aprtment living and stay's cute:

i definately think it might be part pug but the eyes are too normal for a pug and its not got such a flattened nose

I agree it does not have the pug mug either. It looks like the ears might stand up also later. Will be anxious to see it when little older, it will be much easier to guess.:D

Maybe a shar pei? I have no clue. When pups are that small it's so dang hard to tell.

I don't think it is a shar pei cause by looking at the two pictures they seem really different. I think the dogs a pug.
