Hi Folks We had a really good time at the Show and it was nice to meet up with lots of Borzoi Friends (especially my Friend Angie who bred my two boysand her daughter Sarah and to meet her two baby girls - just turned six months in the flesh having only seen pics of them up till then).

Rye got a 4th which really was a pleasant surprise to us :)as we did not think we would get anything under the dog judge. Pellow as expected got nothing.

Angies two babies got 2nd and 3rd under the bitch judge which qualifies them for Crufts 2008. (so pleasedfor them and for her)

Here are a few pics . Apologies as some are not too clear.

Thank you and it is sad as much as I love Rye to bits as a showdog Pellow is the better specimen of the two. We did not expect do get anything with either of them under this judge so Rye's 4th as I say came as a pleasant surprise.

Hi Laurie Thank you

Rye is taller than Pellow. Rye is approx 34 inches at the shoulder and Pellow is approx 33inches

The UK Breed standard says min 27 inches at shoulder for bitches and 29 inches at shoulder for dogs. There is not a maximum given.

I have seen bitches up to 32/33 at the shoulder and dogs up to 36/37.

and Thanks Katz

Wow great pics. I've never been to a dog show before. One thing, your friend Sarah's dogs seem to be less hairy than Pellow and Rye, are they trimmed that way or are some borzoi's coats just different lengths than others?

Iam sure you will love Crufts.:)

Its my friend Angie's dogs Sarah is her daughter, and they are less Hairy because they are six month old puppies and their coats will grow as they mature.

No trimming involved in Borzois . Just that some Adult coats
are different from others.

Hope this has helped explain it .

I think it would look good if you trimmed the hair under their belly, it might look weird if they are suppose to have that hair there though.

That is definately a no no, they have to have the feathering,. It takes a while for the puppies to develop this feathering under the belly
