Well... Today is the 5th day I've had her and no owner in site..
I did call it in to the animal rescue and they did not call back with anyone that has reported a dog missing fitting her description.
So Ill call them tomorrow and make it clear and have her removed from the lost and found list, after that I am going to call the ASPCA (that does spaying for free when it's pitbulls) and go there have her fixed and get her shots up to date and dewormed.
There was a possible owner, but since he's known to neglect his dogs the animal rescue thought it was better that he came down there if he was the owner (he saw me walk by with her) and then he could get her back if he could show why she was in neglected state she was in and proof of rabies.
But either she wasn't good enough for him, or he did not even care since he hasnt even bothered with animal control or it's not his dog..
IF it is his dog I hope that spaying her will make him lose total interest IF he missed that his dog has moved into here and as soon as she is id'd and regestered in my name we will be taking long walks.
Missy is doing very well.. she and Tasha is adapting well to the new house and can be alone up in my room. She got her first chewies today, VERY appreciated, a kong with stuffing (I drained the can and afterwards OOps a teaspoon a day??!! DANG) the good part is.. I kinda let Missy stuff her face a bit and it's working.. she's getting so much food that she is calming down about the food dissapering for her (wich she has been scared of earlier). BUT she is not having recourse guarding issues, I think she is used to loose food etc to a bigger dog and get beat up hence the submissiveness.
Tasha is also accepting her more and more.. Tasha is trusting Missy so much now that she lifts the leg and let missy sniff her tummy and genitals.. Tasha has never done that with any other dog.. usually she goes grumpy cause she don't trust dogs that easy. But missys extreme submissive behaviours seems to have caught on. However I still tie Missy up in the room when leaving them alone so I dont risk anything. When things are going so good I want the progress to continue. However she's still nuts about the cat, but I gave her a good shower with water today and roared a big no and after that she was more quiet.. she can look but the barking and whining has to go.. (I think she has been encouraged to chase small animals cause she is VERY extrem on the kitty) I wouldn't trust her with them so to say.. but as long as she can learn to not touch but just look and be quiet I'm ok with that..
We have started basic contact and obediance out on the backside grass. A little bit of being passive (getting treats when sitting and lying down), and small recalls. She's very contact searching and since she's so food hungry she goes SO happy for the kibbles.. She's doing really good though, Im gonna go and get a clicker in a day or so cause I think she'd be an exellent clicker dog she displays TONS of behaviours that just needs the right reinforcement :)
She has calmed down in average though, working with her head and nose (despite no walks right now) and a lot of food in between are keeping her fairly calm (for an 8 month old pitbull). She's learning that we do ignore her and she wont get her will through ( but she tries OH MY GOD) *lol*
She is a true sweetheart and tomorrow will be the final verdict if she gets to stay or not.. please cross fingers and paws..
