Tears turn to laughter for Ellen DeGeneres (http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/21443024/)
Talk show host makes light of breakdown over dog adoption dilemma

If laughter is indeed the best medicine, Ellen is giving herself a healthy dose in the wake of the Iggy scandal.

One week after her on-air breakdown over the pup, Ellen poked fun at herself as she returned to the air for Tuesday’s show.

“If you haven’t heard what’s been going on with me, welcome back to Earth,” a smiling Ellen said, drawing a laugh from the audience.

Seemingly in good spirits, Ellen continued to make light of the situation, which caused such a frenzy just a week ago.

“No matter how old you are, you constantly learn, which is a good thing. And what I’ve learned is apparently, if you cry on television, people will talk about it,” she joked, before breaking into impressions of people around the globe talking about her tears.

However, it wasn’t all fun and games during her return to the stage, which was taped on Monday and aired on Tuesday.

Later in the show, Ellen brought out representatives from the ASPCA and Petfinder.com with the hopes of shedding a positive light on her dog adoption scandal.

“If there is one good thing that comes out of this situation, I hope it’s that we raise awareness of how many animals out there need rescuing,” she said.

Well good for her. Laughter is a great cure for many ailments :) And kudos to her for helping spread the word about all the rescue and shelter dogs in need of loving forever homes.

I haven't heard anything since the bomb dropped. I take it Iggy is still with the other (new) family?

Well I'm glad she did that. It spreads the word, I know she really cares about animals.

I wish the shelter would have re-visited the issue, I know there are rules for a reason, but this is not a case of someone being denied a pitbull, and that person sends back there friend to adopt it.
