Cleaning my hounds ears?

Hey all, Just wondering how often I should be cleaning my hounds ears and if there is some sort I a mixture I can make at home to put in her ears like vinegar and water. Also do I just put in her ears with an eye dropper or a syringe and then massage at the base of her ears and then clean them out? Thanks for your help!!

My sister in law cleans her boxers ears with vinegar and water, but i'm not sure how often. I do know that when they start to smell a tiny bit or right after bath time she does it. Hounds might need it done more, but her dog is very prone to ear infections so who knows. She uses a cotton ball dips it in the v/w mix and then puts it in the ear, rubs it around a bit, then massages a little at the bottom of the ear, and then takes a dry cotton ball and gets out any gunk and dries it up with another dry one. hope that helped some.:)
