View Full Version : Labrador sizes needed!
Hi,
Can any Dog Forum members who own Labradors please tell me the shoulder height and weight of their dogs (in cm and kg if possible)? I'm very interested to know the sizes of Labs owned by members of Dog Forum and look forward to getting some feedback on this!

max is about 58-60cm (its difficult to make him stand still lol :P) and weighs in at about 40kg. he's an entire male yellow lab :D

Size--The height at the withers for a dog is 22½ to 24½ inches; for a bitch is 21½ to 23½ inches. Any variance greater than ½ inch above or below these heights is a disqualification. Approximate weight of dogs and bitches in working condition: dogs 65 to 80 pounds; bitches 55 to 70 pounds.
The minimum height ranges set forth in the paragraph above shall not apply to dogs or bitches under twelve months of age.
Proportion--Short-coupled; length from the point of the shoulder to the point of the rump is equal to or slightly longer than the distance from the withers to the ground. Distance from the elbow to the ground should be equal to one half of the height at the withers. The brisket should extend to the elbows, but not perceptibly deeper. The body must be of sufficient length to permit a straight, free and efficient stride; but the dog should never appear low and long or tall and leggy in outline. Substance--Substance and bone proportionate to the overall dog. Light, "weedy" individuals are definitely incorrect; equally objectionable are cloddy lumbering specimens. Labrador Retrievers shall be shown in working condition well-muscled and without excess fat.

Madison is 22 in and weighs 64 pounds
Abby is 21 and a half and weighs 74 pounds(she is overweight)

I think he wanted size or height and weight in kg n cm maybe UK talk? Like me do not understand that only ours in lbs, etc.

I dunno LOL, I just gave the info I could, im not to sharp in UK talk...but inno pounds not kilograms lol:D

My two wouldn't stand still but they're roughly 55-60cm. They quite small labs. They both weigh about 27-28kgs. Hope that helps!

My best friend has a yellow lab,he measures 63cms for 45kgs!Big male!.

My Labrador is on the small side, only 20 inches at the withers and weights about 48ish pounds. I am sorry but don't know how to convert inches into cetimeters :p

Uh, sorry. I don't know I haven't heard it for a while so they have probably grown from the last time they were checked. If they were 2, would they still grow?

Don't know cm and kg either but mine is 25 in and 84 lbs

Well, Jack is 2 and about 90 pounds and Belle is the same age and weighs about 87 pounds, they are kinda fat, but cute.

Thanks for the size info. Are Coco, Cainan and Corona all purebred Labradors? If they are, they must be record sizes for the breed!

yea their all purebred but coco is all legs, she's the american all the way.
cainan is definately NOT american at all so he's a decent size for being a male i guess.
and corona has a little of both in here so she's pretty leggy too.
actually if i remember right breed standard for males are something like 26-28 at withers
and females are 24-26? dont quote me on that i might have to do some checking but im pretty sure im fairly close. thats not actually all that tall to tell ya the truth.

wow...dang i was WAY OFF! akc website says 22.5 to 24.5 for dog and bitch is21.5 to 23.5! alright let me measure and ill get back to ya!

L you really had me going crazy. My dog is 25 and I hear how huge he is all the time. He is actually only 1/2 inch over standard then you said the sizes of your and I was like holy toledo. Then I stared at your sig pic for time on end thnking, man they just don't look that big.
I was going crazy I tell ya.

Well everyone tells me Poppy is huge for her age.
I know she isn't fully grown but I thought this was a good thread to mention it on.
Is it normal for her to weigh 10Kg and she is 10 weeks old today? One week ago she weighed 8.1kg! :eek:
The vet even commented on her huge paws...

Being new here, I just found these threads so sorry for bringing up old threads.
Anyway, 3 of my dogs are as follows;
Cletus T. (adult male) 60.9cm
Spooky Joe (young male)63.5
Angel Ann(young female)55.8
I have a couple more dogs i need to measure so i will report back with them.

I don't own one, but the the breed standard is 80 pounds. Sorry, too hard for me to get it in kg because I live in the USA.

2.2 pounds per kilogram. 80 pounds is 36 kilo, approximately
10 cm equals about 4 inches.
