A DOG owner who attracted 160 complaints about his pet's barking has lost an appeal against convictions for causing a noise nuisance.

Sean Knowlson, 39, will now have to pay a total of £11,000 in fines and costs after a judge upheld a magistrates court verdict.

Knowlson, of Winchester Road, Southampton, was found guilty of breaching a noise abatement notice served on him last year.

Neighbours and council officers had collected evidence of the continuing noise nuisance.

Knowlson said the complaints were from two neighbours and related to the daytime when he not at home.

"It was only six times over a period of a year. It's not excessive," he said.
