I started in the house getting Breagh used to it. I would go into another room give it a peep call her name and give it another peep do this untill she recognises the whistle without you calling her name give loads of praise and the odd treat Snoop will soon get the hang of it. then when he is out in the garden use the whistle too call him in. Good Luck. Let me know how you get on. Nancy.

I bought a cheap one and it was very inconsistent in its tone and it then broke soon afterwards.

I suggest buying a more expensive version that will stay at the pitch you desire.

good luck...

Hi Spotter, how are you getting on with the whistle ?

When the dog is sleeping, wind the whistle all the way in - then blow into the whistle until the dogs ears prick up - that will be your dogs frequency.

From here, when you blow the whistle and call the dog to you - reward heavily so that the dog associates the whistle with a reward!

alternatively, you can use the whistle to repremand the dog (although this is not as effective)
