View Full Version : Is The Forum Slow Or My Computer? It Is An Old One, Dell Is Sending Error Messages.

Gosh I can barely get to one click to another, this compaq usually works quite well for a standby. The Dell has error messages coming in my face, gotta call them about it.
I am worried this thing may crash or if the forum has slowed down, one night or day it was very slow and the reply did not work well.?? Just wondering ....Help.

Don't throw your computer away! It's the forum again! It's a slow as molasses in January; even worse than it was the other day.

The site is indeed slow, and I verified tonight that it is a problem with one of the providers. I'm a (more than a) bit lost with the technical side of networking, but it sounds like it's something that should work itself out in the near future. Until then just try to bear with it as annoying as it is.

Thanks a bunch I am sitting here pounding on the enter key to move it move it, ha ha. Glad to hear mine is ok then. I can bare with this. I will log off and go watch the Big Screen,lol.

Mine was slow last night on the forum but is better today, I also hope you get the kinks worked out with your computer Shep, personally im so close to just stop buying from Dell because all my products including MP3 played and HDTV have quite after 4 years, sucks.
Sorry for venting about Dell :D

I think it comes n goes, just scared me as I never encountered it as slow ??
It seems ok now and hope it stays that way, it is terrible to sit and pound keys thinking a computer crash is going to happen.

There seem to be slowdowns in the evenings but they don't last as long as they did the other day.

I'm on dial-up & an old computer. It's slow all the time. Good to think that maybe sometimes its the site.

On your system, you may want to disable avatars and images to increase performance. To do so, go to your User CP (top menu bar), select Edit Options (along the left side), and scroll down to the bottom of the page. You'll see check boxes for various elements that can be turned off on slower computers and/or slower connections.

It is rather slow on my comp too, I guess it's the forum. I did notice it was really slow last night when I wasnt logged on (Just browsing but offline), I guess it's a very busy forum!
