Valparaiso University School of Law Professor Rebecca J. Huss, in a Summary Report to the United States Attorney for the Eastern District of Virginia, recommended that 47 dogs (one has been euthanized for medical reasons) be placed with eight organizations, with Best Friends receiving the most dogs (22). The next largest group would be placed with Bay Area Dog Lovers Responsible About Pit Bulls (BAD RAP) of Oakland, Calif. (10). Other organizations that would receive dogs are Richmond Animal League of Richmond, Va. (4); Georgia SPCA of Suwanee, Ga. (3); SPCA of Monterey County, Calif. (3); Recycled Love Inc. of Baltimore, Md. (3); Animal Rescue of Tidewater, Chesapeake, Va. (1); and PACK (Pit Bull Advocates for Compassion and Kindness), San Francisco, Calif. (1).

I'd love to hear more about the conditions these dogs are going to be kept in, in order to thrive.

If they've been trained to fight and their dog aggressive tendencies have been encouraged since birth, they'll have to be kept in isolation for the rest of their lives. It's better than the alternative for sure, but can't be much of a life for them cooped up in a run surrounded by other dogs with just an hour or so a day (if that) of human companionship.

There are probably 'bait dogs' as well as fighting dogs. And from what I have seen on bait dogs, even though they have every reason to hate human beings, they are often those that are the sweetest, most loyal dogs after adoption.

Thsy usually will use kitten or cats or young puppies for bait. Hardly do they use a good pitt unless it is proven a looser, then he might of kept them for bait.? I would wonder just who will take on a dog like this? It would kinda scare me to go outside with it. The dog might live in isolation rest of its life? I just not see how they can be really rehabilitated to be a normal dog when they fought from a puppy up to?? It is such a pity. I do hope he pays for this more than fine and probabtion but some prison time to think about what he funded, etc. Also, now we have the Bonds case today. I think this world has or is going crazy, I turn on my TV each day and it is either a youth or male shooting up a male or store, now N.Y. has building collapse and killed a person. Gosh mentally ill needs to be helped in a hospital for them only.

I would love to give one of those pitts a good home, they deserve it after what they've been through.
Do you think we will ever hear a news story about one of Vics former dogs biting somebody, that would be sad but it would make news
