Dog skinned alive
http://news.deviantart.com/article/38096/
This was posted on another forum I am on. Someone stole someones dog and over night skinned it alive. The dog was able to walk home but had to be put down later at the vets. They do not post the pictures on the page with the story. You have to click a link to see the pictures. And I warn you they are very graphic. I have not slept a wink all night after seeing them.
I agree with the person who has this site that it is something that needs to be known. Even if you live in a rural area please do not leave your dogs alone unattended.

It's sickening what some people will do. What possible sick pleasure can they get out of harming an innocent animal like that?
And you're right, people who leave their dogs outside all day unattended may be taking a huge risk.
You constantly monitor your dog.
CONSTANTLY.
I dunno how many times/ways I have said this. Never take your eyes off your dog.

Here is a link to a news article in it and unfortunately the sheriff says there are very few leads.

I can't even bring myself to watch the film. Just the thought of what the poor creature went through...

After reading that story and seeing them pictures, it made my so emotional I started to actually cry, I have some tissues at the ready! I do not think I'll be sleeping tonight. I also feel very angry, whoever done that I will seriously find them and punch their lights out after what they did to a beautiful innocent beagle like that. it just makes me feels so sad and angry.
Of course I'm only being silly, I wont find them and punch their lights out but I wish I could, I feel so sorry for that dog and for the owner. The family look very happy with the dog, that's why you should keep track of your dog constantly and just is an example of what people actually do to dogs!

Ye Gods. What kind of psychopath could do such an evil thing?
I hope they catch this monster and put him down - after beating the c*ap out of him first. Better still, skin him alive and see how he likes it:mad:
What is wrong with society at the present day? Is it something in the water/food that is affecting people or is it that there's too much violence in films and the like that is turning some people's minds?
Even here in the UK crimes are becoming more and more violent and crazed, both towards humans and animals.
I'm sure with the amount of violence portrayed on our TV screens and cinemas it is desensitising people, particularly the young.
Where will it end?

Aw! Poor dog! Ugh! I hate it when people do this stuff to dogs for no reason! It's so sad! I can't even imagine why someone would want to and to that cute little dog! I almost cried reading the story and it felt worse when I saw the pic of Anne before she got skinned cause she had such a sweet face! I wouldn't dare look at the pic of her skinned because I knew it would make me even sadder! I just hope that the sheriffs find out who did this and have him arrested!

Perhaps old-fashioned simple detective work would catch the monster who did this.
The dogs found their way home, poor Anne skinned alive. Suggests it is someone within the immediate area.
Whoever did this, I would think, wanted the owners to see the horror and suffering of these dogs. Someone with a grudge against this family.
I saw the pictures. I really had to switch off my emotions and urge to retch to look at them. It's something I have been trained to do as I have been to many pathology lectures in my time in the Red Cross in the past. Whoever did this is skilled in this type of work because of the neatness it was done with. Suggests to me someone who works skinning animals, possibly for a living. Someone perhaps who works at an abbatoirs.
There was (obviously) more than one person involved. One to do the skinning and others to hold the dog down and another to hold the other dog.
Whoever did this is a psychopath and it is well known that often psychopaths practice their evil trade on animals first, then progress to humans.
Whoever did this MUST be caught and if the police don't find this person then they are failing miserably in their duties.
As for the owners, I doubt if they'll ever get over such a horror as this.

As horrible as this is, there have been a couple of updates to this story.
One is that $35,000 was raised to fine the person or persons who did this.
Reward money put up or pledged in the case of Anne, a pet beagle that had to be euthanized after being skinned alive in Cullman County last month, has reached more than $35,000, officials from two animal groups said Tuesday.
A donor from Birmingham has given the Cullman County Sheriff's Department a check for $20,000 for a reward, said Linda Morgan, president of the Cullman Area Animal Welfare Association. "I think it's incredible," she said.

The other is that it may have been a horrible accident and not intentionally done.
However, Cullman County Sheriff Tyler Roden says an examination by a state pathologist indicates the skinning might have been an accident.
That's because it appeared to have been performed by a machine, not someone with a knife.
The findings raise the possibility of a mishap involving farm equipment or other machinery.

That kind of money is usually enough to bring someone out from the woodwork. I would think that whoever did it probably told someone and they would rat on them for $35,000. So this may not be over yet.
But the fact remains - letting your dogs wander around the neighborhood just isn't acceptable. Whetehr it was intentional or not, that poor little dog suffered horribly.

I thought when I saw the ghastly pics that it was too neat a job for someone with no experience of skinning. However, I can't see that type of injury being caused by farm machinery. It begs the question, if it was farm machinery or similar, what kind of machine would cause that type of injury?
Perhaps we may never know.
About 20 years ago when I lived in Scotland, there was a horrendous cruelty case involving an 8 week old kitten. Some evil scumbag cut off the kittens back legs, probably with an axe or very sharp knife.
A man who ran the local Martial Arts club put up a large reward - about £2,000 if I remember (approx $4,000), and other people added to that reward. I think the reward total ended around the £20,000 mark. No-one was ever caught for that evil deed despite the huge reward.
Just recently, again in Scotland there is a case of a dog who had his/her tail cut off - but it wasn't just the dog's tail - it was half if it's back end. So far, no-one has been caught for it, and the case is still on-going, but the MO's very similar and I wonder if the person who mutilated the kitten (who died at the vets) and who mutilated the poor dog (had to be PTS as the injuries were so bad) is one and the same person, just moved to another town.
Whoever it is MUST be caught because he/she could, and probably will, strike again.
