As we wrap up 2007, I wanted to take a moment to let everyone know what we have in stock for 2008.
It will be a huge year!
Hiring of a General Manger will ensure a more consistent presence by the people who can add new features/forums, help rectify problems, hand-out prizes etc.
New Design in Q1 2008 will evolve the current look and feel of the community
New features like blogs, enhanced chat and reviews are just around the corner
Bigger advertising campaign will increase the activity on the community well beyond anything we have seen in the past
More consistent process will be put into place to ensure that anything from awarding prizes to addressing member feedback is done effectively and within a timely manner
and a few other secret projects are in the works... ;)I am personally very excited about these changes and what they will mean for the community.
As we start to implement some of these changes, be sure that we will be looking for your feedback.
Thanks very much for an amazing 2007.
Happy Holidays!

What I meant by it, is that this forum is so great, I didn't know that it could get any better! :p

When only 19 members out of a membership of 4000 sign in for a chance to win 50.00, that's a pretty sure sign that there must be room for improvement.:)
With the coming changes and once the Holidays are behind us and a brand new year has begun, here's hoping it just gets better and better! :)

As lilpantz said, I'm glad you haven't had any specific problems, but you DO NOT speak for everyone. There have been many problems and questions that have not been resolved or answered. I'm looking forward to that in 2008. :)
If there weren't problems then why would that be stated as one of the improvements in 2008?

I think this forum has been great...the staff is very helpful to me.:)
Well Muttlies..I don't know why it would be stated..but I don't see how just because people complain about something..it's a problem.
Who said something that may need improving is a problem?

The definition for problem;
prob·lem/ˈprɒbhttp://cache.lexico.com/dictionary/graphics/luna/thinsp.pngləm/[prob-luhhttp://cache.lexico.com/dictionary/graphics/luna/thinsp.pngm]–noun
1. any question or matter involving doubt, uncertainty, or difficulty.
2. a question proposed for solution or discussion.
(www.dictionary.com (http://www.dictionary.com))
In other words, when a question or complaint is brought up (which many of us have had) it is a problem or they've had a problem. It's VERY obvious there have been some problems here, especially with the recent firing of one of the best forum directors.

I do not know the problem and maybe I do not care to know all the facts, that would not change my decision to stay where the best forum is, right here? If your refering to another director I thought she stepped down and retired?
If you have a beef to work out why do you not go to the Admin,, he will take it on and find a solution to your problems, do not bring them up on here. We are happy, if your not then do not come on and try to upset the entire forum. MERRY CHRISTMAS.

I simply stated that I was excited about one of the things being promised in 2008. I was not "trying to upset the entire forum." It was a simple, excited statement to the fact that we are being promised more prompt and consistent feedback.
Apparently you have an issue with me stateing my excitement, quite possible you should refrain from reading my posts.
Merry Christmas to you, too, honey!

As most of you know, this community always strives to be drama-free. We are not a soap opera and will never allow that type of atmosphere here. We are dog enthusiasts - that's what brings us together.
The changes in 2008 are a natural progression for the community and have absolutely nothing to do with anything else - period. As the community continues to mature, many of these changes are needed in order to keep up. Simple as that :D
Happy Holidays!

I see some sass by a certain somebody... kinda funny since it's not going anywhere. See, I always thought that you could, in fact, express your opinion in a nice way.
Also...about that 'other director'..., unless you truly, actually know what happened..I wouldn't be stating opinions as facts. It gets everyone worked up.
I like that DF strives to be drama free. 'Course not everyone is drama free.. but as long as they try and contain their drama and not spread it on the forum and make everyone mad at each other...it's ok. :)
I am excited for '08:D

Is it going to remain primarily a dog forum?
The recent additions seem to indicate a trend towards a social forum with less emphasis on dogs and dog ownership.

We will be even more focused on dogs in 2008. The addition of other non-dog forums will be kept at a minimum. :)

Glad to hear the forum will remain dog focused. I find it much more interesting since it is a dog forum and I love the information and talk about dogs.

Really? I know this has been a concern of yours for some time, but I fail to see how you arrive at this conclusion about the recent forum additions.
Dogs in the News - seems dog-topical to me.
Dog Food and Treat Recipes - seems dog and dog ownership related, to me.
The people food recipes forum is definitely people-oriented and social, but two of the three forums added are dog and dog ownership focused, and if we are drawing a trend from the addition of three forums, then that would seem to indicate to me a trend toward being dog-focused, not away from it.

Glad to hear new things are being added like receipes. Geesss what else can we say about dogs all the time.? I like humor, and I am happy a few new things have been added, it does get boring and I love trying new receipes. Hope you add one Vagrey? thanks for all thinking of adding these and hope there comes more, dog or not, we all have something else to do here. I do now and then get kinda bored on all dog talk.:)
