I do not own one but have had a bulldog similar in care, keep face clean n dry as they droll some, and the crease clean from getting infections. Do not bath only when necessary as they do not need much maintainance, clean dogs, friendly, sweet. Cuties and make great pets. Found a link u can read and look at picture of a nice pug.
My mother always had a Peek, kinda same type of dog also but longer hair. She never groomed hers, she should of had the pug, less work.

Hi
I have a pug. She's year and half .There very active love to run and play.
Mine was very hard to house break it took tell she was 6mos to finally beable to say she was house broke .You have to keep the folds over nose and around there eyes clean .I use baby wipes fragrance free and then make sure you use a very soft cloth to dry .Brandy dosen't have any skin problems .They can have eye problems .Brandy had to have surgery on one eye when she was 3 months old due to hair growing in her eye ball . It was actual hair like she has on her body growing in her eye ball.
She's very lovable loves to sleep on your lap or right next to you. They also snore. There very funny and she keeps us laughing. The can't take the heat because of there mushed in faces so there mainly house dogs .they also get very cold in winter . Brandy has a coat when she goes out or a sweather if its not really cold. Pat

I always wanted a pug, and Id call it pug! :p
Anyhoo I was speaking to someone at training with a pug x (if I remeber whay it is ill let you know). He is the most adorable little thing, and he is basically a pug, with a wee beard its unbelivably cute! Ive seen him at dog class and he seems very obiedient and friendly, and hes still young, he takes on his training very well. His owner was saying that they make great pets, thay are just lovley dogs :)
Best of luck with your puggy :)

They have the most wonderful expression when you talk to them, sort of tipped head and saying "is that really true?" However, the one I knew shed something terrible--the owner said she brushed him daily but...I have never seen a dog shed that much.

My sis in law has one and amazingly they do shed a great deal...I would have thought they wouldn't shed but I was wrong. They have a lot of breathing problems because of their pushed in faces, they also need thorough cleaning of all those skin folds as they're prone to skin diseases. I know she seems to spend a lot of time at the vet's with hers. Maybe you could try googling pugs and see what you can find.

Pugs are fantastic little dogs. Our Pug is 8 months old and she makes us laugh every single day. : ) She is VERY active and thinks she's a labrador (she likes to go off hunting in the woods with Toby-hound lol).
Katybud has given you great advice RE cleaning of face folds etc. and do beware that fawns shed a lot (they're double coated) - black's don't shed as much because they are single coated.
As I'm typing this Poppy is curled up on my lap snoring her little heart out - they are lovely companions and very loyal - when she is off-lead she hardly leaves your side except to fetch or to run with Toby and she has a stunning recall, although she has been a bit of a tough nut to obedience train - VERY stubborn. ;)
Like Katy said, Pugs can have eye problems but Poppy *touch wood* has yet to have any issues, but if you do get a Pug make sure to buy a nice snug coat for the winter weather and be prepared to have a fight to get them to go out in the rain...lol! Make sure to buy from a reputable breeder to avoid health problems such as breathing difficulties, bad skin and joint problems. Poppy is from a very well-to-do British showline and is as healthy as a horse - it's worth the time and the research. :)
All the best,
