Can I test my dogs breed (or mixes) with blood test?

I just got a blood test, and they said they can ascertain a lot of information from your DNA.

Is it possible to test my dog to find out what breed (s) he is.

He is a little pound mix dog, and many people ask me what he is and I reply that he is a 'bitza'

I'm not 100% certain, but I'm fairly sure that you cannot tell the breed from DNA. Dog is dog is dog, any colourations etc are variations on a theme.
Same as with humans - can't tell what skin colour etc from DNA...

Dogs all carry the same DNA-type...they're all the same animal, just with varied looks. canis familiares
