This is more of a fundraising idea for the site since I assume by the ".org" status that it's non-profit. Another org I was part of (seahorse .org) did a yearly calendar. They typically started the process in June or July and had the calendar photos voted on and ready to go by Nov to be shipped out.
Basically it was ran like this: up to 5 people could sign up to compete for a photo spot for each month. You could sign up for 2 spots but no more. (Ie. someone could sign up to compete for July and Nov, etc etc...and each month could have up to 5 contestants). Once they are on the roster guaranteed for that month they each go out and take a photo that's fitting for the month(s) they signed up for. Usually they were given 2 months to take the photo, at most. Then each month had it's own thread set up w/ the 5 photos and a poll at the top to vote on which photo they wanted to see for that month...this way it remains annonymous but the admin don't get bogged down with hundreds of pm's or e-mails of people's votes.
Once all the photos were decided on, they were sent to a publisher to print the calendars and they were sold to anyone who wanted them. The money profited went directly back to the maintanence of the website (hence non-profit status).
If this is something the site is interested in doing I'd be glad to find a publisher that would print the calendars cheaply for the org. (i don't remember who printed the calendars for the other org)
