This article proves that useing a choker chain to fix a dog being nervous is just plain stupid!

The Blevinses may want to rename the family dog. After four nights in the cold, a citywide search by co-workers and some extra effort by Malmstrom Air Force Base personnel, "Survivor" may be more fitting than "Spooky." "It's amazing what this dog lived through," said Rick Blevins, who, along with his wife, Ginger, owns Spooky.

That's one lucky dog all right.

Nothing in the article indicated that the collar had anything to do with the dog being spooked. I got the impression that the only reason the type of collar was mentioned was due to dangers of her getting it caught on something while she was running loose.

It sounds like Spooky got away because she was so scared of people. It could have been any kind of collar. She was lucky she survived though, very lucky!
