Ouch!

Hello again.

Im staying at my oh's parents for a few days before heading off to the wilds of the IOW, so Ive taken up residence at thier computer for a few minutes :p


Just wondering if anyone could offer any remidies for piercing troubles?

It would appear one of my two tounge piercings has got infected (its all swollen!), and although I have taken the neccacary pain killers and am about to start drinking salt water, all my usual remidies are failing, its still painfull and I cant really speak much...my accent sounds hillarious with a lisp mind! :p

Id usually let it run its course, but Craigs parents are taking us out for dinner and if speaking is currently a challenge you can imagine how bad eating is! Aside from numbing the pain with vodka Im all out of plans!

Wow! 2 tongue piercings! Thats brave! I used to have a pierced nose and it got infected so many times. The last time the end of my nose awelled up like a tomato and you can imagine what happened when i took 'the pin' out... YOWZER! gave up after that! Salt water really is the best thing and sucking ice cubes to help the swelling go down. best of luck, Di aka Yellowperil

Peroxide is the best thing for cleaning it but for pain relief I'd say you were right with alcohol. How about some vodka/whiskey on the rocks so its nice and cold. Sucking ice cubes will help reduce the swelling. If it was me I'd remove the piercing. I had an eyebrow piercing for months but once it got infected it was never the same again and seemed to be prone to getting caught.
