I was thinking today of different things like doing something like say hard to do or something asked of you to do, or something you just tackled because?

Like say: You prepared a full meal, dessert n all and everything turned out great for company or a party planned. You worried and then you did it and stood back and said: Gosh, I am proud of myself for accomplishing all this work and turned out better than I thought it would?

Or, you went an entire day without a drop of sweets, candy or whatever you do daily and wanted to stop n see. Golly, hard for me, but I can say. Man, I am sure proud I made it without any candy, ice tea, gum anything sweet, I made it!!!

Tell us something that made you so proud you patted yourself on the back and said to yourself, Geesss I sure am proud of ME today!! I made it!!!!~~~~~:D

Just recently I felt good about something I did:
I had a pup for sale,he was a yellow lab pup nmed Jack and I wanted the perfect home for him, I got a call from a women that wanted him but couldn't pay me a deposit right away, now usually I would not sell without a deposit but there was something about this women that changed my mind and I told her I would hold the pup for her, Now this lady had a son with Autism and he had a hard time relating with other children and because of this he was very lonely, he wouldn't go to school for entire days or sleep thought the entire night. This boy was aroung 7 years.
So I held the dog for her and when she came to get him with her son he was so happy and was laughing and playing with Jack like anormal child would and the mother was shocked, she told me her son hadn't acted like this in so long.
So I said goodbye to Jack and he went home with the family, a few days ago I got a call from the mother, she told me "This is incredible,my son is sleeeping through the night which he hasn't done in years and he has also went to school for entire days"I was so happy Jack had made such a diffrence in this boys life, the mother said "Thankyou for holding him for me,he is a blessing" she was crying but tears of Joy.
Jack has already started training to be a service dog so he can go everywhere with her son.
This made me feel good and I patted myself on the back.

Another trumph of course was finishing highschool, it was hard but with alot of work i did it, I was very happy.

Would love to hear others stories :D

Good topic sheplovr!
Great story Melissa!

As far as things around the house go, not much! I'm not the worlds best domestic engineer.;)

One of the times I felt most proud of myself was regarding the behavior of our dogs. We lived in a residential area with a 3 dog limit so we had to have well behaved dogs or we could have been fined and made to rehome 2 of them.

Earlier than usual one Sunday evening we were unloading our 5 dogs after a weekend spent at Hunting Dog tests. (we normally left before daylight and got home well after dark on these weekends. When we went to dog shows, the neighbors usually saw just two leave with us.) As neighbors will do, our longtime neighbors of many years wandered over to visit.

As the seemingly endless line of dogs exited from their crates and filed into the house, one of the neighbors asked who all those dogs belonged to. When we sheepishly replied that they were ours; the comments ranged from, "I thought you only had 2 dogs" to, "I never knew you had that many dogs" and, "Wow, I wish my dogs were that well behaved, I never hear them barking." (they did bark occasionally when they played, but not excessively)

The funniest part was when they asked us how we could tell them apart! http://community.discovery.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_biggrin.gif

I was very proud of myself that my dogs were such good citizens and didn't ever disturb my neighbors or join in when their dogs were barking their fool heads off.

I am 16 weeks away from being very proud of myself for getting my masters in 2 years while working full time, and maintaining a gpa of over 3.5.

For now, I am proud of myself for making it this far, considering I did 10 straight months of school, 9 classes, with no breaks between semesters last year.

I'm finishing my schooling for Web Design and Graphics..and everytime I take a test I am proud of myself!

I'm finishing it through home study, so I have to make the time and sit down and study. My tests are taken online as well, so it makes me happy when I actually sit down and finish an exam.

There are other little things that make me proud of myself..but that is the most recent.

How much fun to read about everyones' successes! Good job to you all!

I'm proud of being able to run my dog in agility at the high level we are all the while being on the kidney transplant waiting list. Sometimes I really struggle against my body, but I'm still finding myself qualifying well. Of course, I've got a wonderful dog!! We'll be competing in the AKC Agility Nationals again in just a few months, and in just three shows we are already 1/2 qualified for 2009 Nationals. :)

Let's hear more of these. They are uplifting.

Agility, a lady is coming today at one to buy puppy girl for agility. I think that is awesome as she is high drive, quick and I feel she will do great. She is light on her feet, listens well for a lil over two months. This lady works in a hospital in Pittsburgh, Pa.

Hope she gets a good home, well I know she will. Just hope she does well for her. Kinda exciting to find one that might excel in agility.

Lets go people and tell me your happy thoughts to give yourself a pat on the shoulder. Good stories of truth and happiness. Love it love it....:)

These are some great stories! I really like Melissa's one about the kid with autism being changed by one of her dogs though. That is really making a difference in someones' lives.
Mine is that I think after five years the business I started is finally getting off the ground. This past week I was able to pay off the loans to the bank and state economic development fund so that is a big relief!

Hey Skunk I was wondering if you would give yourself a big pat on the back for just going after it, lol.?

I am glad it will pay off all things, takes time to build up anything, hard work, long hours, alot of dedication and determination which I have alot of when I want something bad enough. The best to you, as I felt u deserved a big one for going to get all that and get lost, and all.? Yes, stories are great to hear of how we can give ourselves a hug or pat on the back....:)

It sounds like the lady getting one of your dogs for agility knows what she's doing. If I wanted to show German shepherds in agility, I'd also NOT get one from American lines. Good for her, and I hope she does well. Exciting for you too! I keep my breeders updated on the dogs.

She bought her and was extremely happy with her drive and looks. Yes, she was sent to me by a top Obedience Trainer in Pa state, she is going into Puppy classes now for socializtion then to the Obedience trainer for titles.

Then she is going to see how things are and wants to do agility badly for fun, not big time like you are honey. she just wants to keep her busy as she had a shepherd before and knows they need to be kept busy with high drive from Germany. I pray she does great so I can brag with you sweetie, lol.....:)

I am proud of myself today for POSSIBLY convincing my parents on getting me a puppy. I don't really think it'll work but I will remain hopeful. *cough* Cavalier King Charles Spaniel *cough*

You've all achieved some wonderful things. I can't think of anything recent. Many years ago in my final year of high school, I studied English at the ordinary level. When I received my School Certificate, I had passed English at Credit level without doing all the extra study some of my classmates had done. I was proud of myself for that.

Yesterday on our walk we encountered a beagle as we were coming out the front door and had the usual barking jumping dance.
Met 1 other dog toward the end of the walk across the street.
I had been working with Lucy to sit while I look both ways before crossing the street.
She looked up at me and immediately sat!:D Quietly until the other dog was past:cheers:! I was so proud of her!
She is harder to handle in a halter and I have to brace myself more for encounters.

I recently realised how proud I was of the change I have made in my Collie, Simba. She has gone from being the dog some trainers suggested I send back to my devoted follower.

She wouldn't look anyone in the eye when I first got her, and now I spend my evenings with her lying next to me gazing at me adoringly. It took months to get her to walk out of the house, and I recently took her on a 6 mile walk, off the lead and she got thoroughly covered in filth. She looked so happy, her tail was wagging non-stop and she had the goofiest expression on her face as she bounced around that I thought "wow, i've done that for her" and it made me really proud! :D

I think all humans have done something if their lifetime to be so proud of, I am certain of this be it now or much earlier in life, it all counts.

Lately, just the other day I made a commitment to work on my elliptical machine (http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&rlz=1T4GGLJ_enUS246US246&sa=X&oi=spell&resnum=0&ct=result&cd=1&q=elliptical+machine&spell=1). I bought this thing near 3 years ago, broke my ankel six months later, laid up all of 06 mostly and yet limping but can use the ankel on this soft machine.

It is a very hard workout if done properly, starting with ten minutes working to 20 to 30 minutes a day. Well, when I used to try using it I could only barely get 5 minutes in exhausted. It is hard on the legs, butt, shoulders, so started when feeding the dogs and did 5 minutes very easily 3 days ago. While they ate I worked, well forgot all about it last 2 days, excuse, yes.

Now did nearly ten minutes but legs hurt so badly, but I have to pat myself for making it as my legs are thoroughly weak and flabby. I am going to make myself work till I get half hour a day. So, I am proud I have promised myself this and did a ten minutes on it. A great Machine!!!:D
