The Millau viaduct is part of the new E11 expressway connecting Paris and Barcelona and features < /I>
the highest bridge piers ever constructed. The tallest is 240 meters (787 feet) high and the
overall height will be an impressive 336 meters (1102 feet), making this the highest bridge in the world.

I SURE COULD NEVER DRIVE CROSS THIS BRIDGE, COULD YOU? I AM SCARED TO DEATH OF HEIGHTS.

It gives me the creeps to think if I ever had to cross something like that, think I would walk under it, lol.?? I am being stupid now!!! How on earth could they even make sure a bridge this high and why?

I guess a reason for everything? Just no time for me to sit and think about why's all the time, just wanted to share for members to see if they would cross this thing, my luck it would fall in if I ever would try???? lol.:)

that is one heck of a bridge! Shep if there were 6 GSD at the other side of the bridge and they badly needed rescuing and you were the only person who could help - could you then? LOL

I can imagine some of my friends who are scared of heights going across the bridge on their hands and knees like limpits!

Nope, couldn't do it...scared of heights too. I'd lose it about 1/4 way over.

I don't think you would see me going accross it, I have enough crossing a bridge over water. Now that one would give me a panic attack.

Looks like someone has been up to trick photography, you can tell in the first pic that there is a definate line down the middle of the pic, plus have the strands are missing from all but 2 pylongs, also the shadow of the actual bridge....ah the joys of photoshop etc;)

Now not saying the bridge doesnt have some curvature about it, however most pics tend to give off less than that first actual pic.

Either way - to get me over something so big, it might take a couple of these:drunken:

as you can see the roads underneath make it look much worse than it actually it.

I read something about professional drivers being employed to drive people across! LOL. I love the picture below - above the clouds!

I would need the pro driver and a blindfold for me to get accross that.

Generally very high bridges (especially new ones) have particularly high barriers to greatly limit issues for people who are afraid of heights. Unfortunately, that also serves to greatly reduce the view for those who don't.

Nothing high for me, I had a hard time years back unloading bales of hay in the loft. We had to pay someone to put up ice streamers on the roofs. We are scared to decorate anything high. That bridge gives me the creeps. I would have a heart attack for sure.?:)

I think I saw a story about this bridge on Discovery Channel. No sure what country it was built in. However in some ways it resembles the bridge we have here in Boston. Though not quite so large.

I really don't have a fear of some bridges but this one might give me pause to drive over.
