Hello and welcome to Dogforum.org. :)

First, get your dog on a excellent holitistic dog food. Next add colostrum on top of that food everyday. Colostrum can be bought at any agricultural store that services the cattle industry or at a large animal vet's office. Colostrum is made from cow's milk, it is what calf ( or any baby animal ) will drink when it first starts life, it is the first milk from it's mother and carries anti-bodies and other nutrients to start life out properly. It helps dogs boost their immunity and also combats problems with joints etc. Depending on the size of your dpg I would feed 1 tablespoon for a 80lb dog less for a smaller dog.

It works wonders.

You can also add glucosamine and condrotin to you dogs diet. One pill once a day. You cna crush that and put on top of food or you can just give the pill whole. You can buy tis at amy phramacy with the herbs or any helath food store. :)

Hope that helps you.

Sensible Choice

Salmon oil like www.grizzlysalmonoil.com is also excellent for an arthritic dog. A good food will help, but the most relief from arthritis will come from supplements.
