Rat Terrier or smooth JRT?

This is my little house guest. I picked her up after seeing her roaming my neighborhood for over a week with no collar. I am looking for her owners right now, she is in good shape, so I'm hoping she has a family. If not, I will likely be holding on to her until I can get her into a rescue.

Just out of curiosity, do you guys think she looks like a rat terrier or a smooth jack russell?

That baby looks like a JR for sure. If you do not find the owners or anybody to lclaim her, I would keep her. They have alot of talent to train to do things. She is in fine shape, poor girle. she is cute as a button. Nice dog for sure. I would not turn her over to be killed or not find a good home, go to a no kill shelter for sure. She is pretty.

Yeah, when I first saw her I thought Rat Terrier, but when I talked to the lady at the pound, she said JRT (I didn't leave her there, just reporting her found), so that got me looking at smooth JRT pics. It's the prick ears that were throwing me off, but I guess some JRT have prick ears.

She's a nice dog, pushy and needs training, but good overall temperament, no problem with other dogs, kids, cats, food, etc...at first I was thinking there was no way I could keep her, that would be four dogs for me, and it would be stretching it financially, but now I'm thinking about it. I'm looking into low cost vax and spay places, assuming she's not spayed, which I really don't know. Of course I'm still looking for an owner right now, but I'll take it one day at a time after that.

I thought Rat Terriers had floppy terrier ears. But I think that the same as JRT since the breed standard is pretty loose, you can see some with erect ears. She's got the terrier look all right, and if she's pushy that kind of clinches it. :p

Rat terrier or a mix JRT's ears are not like that.
