gentleman of the jury the one absolutly unselfish friend that a man can have in this selfish world, the one that never deserts him, the one that never approves ungreatful or treacherus ,is his dog. A mans dog stands by him in prosperity and poverty, in health and sickness .He will sleep on the cold ground where wintry winds blow and the snow drives firecly , if only he may be near the master's side.he will kiss the hand that has no food to offer,he will lick the wounds that come in encounters with the roughness of the world .He gaurds the sleep of his pauper master as if he were a prince. When all other friends desert,he remains. When riches take wings and reputation falls to pieces , he is as constant in his love as the sun in its journey through the heavens.-Senator Graham Vest Vest said this best in his famous tribute to the dog over a century ago. any comments

I wouldn't like to try out the wintry cold ground and sleeping on it one bit, and I'm quite sure that Oscar would eat the last morsel of food out of my mouth should we ever be tested, but apart from that I reckon it's fairly true.
