What shade of gold for a Golden?

Golden Retrievers come in a range of gold, from very light to very dark.
Do you have a preference? If so, what shade of gold do you like best?

if I see tons of blonds, then my heart tips for the red and vice versa. When I was a kid there were hardly any blonds and I went WOW when I saw one. first time at age 12 I tthought it was a labmix.. *lol* Now all you see on show is the blond ones so right now I prefer the redheads :p

I really like the pale creams, but I think it's because they remind me of our old Pyreneans. Having said that, Simba is a gingery blonde sable collie and she matches my hair, so I think if I was going for a golden it would be only right to get it in the 'family colours' (shh...don't tell molly that she's black)

I like all of them, but I always think of the lighter ones as being GR's. I think its because we rarely see any of the more rich colours in the UK, most are lighter.

I like the one's that are intween light and dark like my Max. I not keen on the realy cream almost white ones although his mum was that colour, I just think a Golden should be just that.

Love the darker shades, their coats just seem more glossy, that and I like darker colored dogs in general. :cheers:

I like all goldies but I do have a preference for golden shades simply because my Gran had a golden when I was growing up so I've got a good association with goldens.

I like the honey colored ones myself. The dark ones are my second choice. :)

I have a light honey coloured one at the moment, and I adore her colour, but we also had a gorgeous dark gold male previously. He was very striking - the contrast between his light cream feathering and the dark gold/reddish colour of his main coat was breathtaking.

I like the medium ones best as they are more golden but they are all got lovely temperaments and are great pets and I suppose they are good workers but I've never seen a gun dog working.
