Is it common for Aussies to jump fences? We might be moving and will have to put up a fence. Will a 4ft fence be tall enough, or will we have to get a 6ft one? I plan on getting her into agility, so she will be a jumper, but I wasn't sure how high the jumps were.

My Aussie doesn’t jump fences; she won’t even leave the yard if I leave the gate open without an OK from me. I think it’s a factor of training and keeping them active both mentally and physically daily. A bored Aussie will find a way to be entertained with or without you. Males might have more of a tendency to wander if they are not fixed. A typical Aussie will jump from 16" up to 26" in Agility depending on their size as measured at the withers and the sanctioning body putting on the event. My aussie jumps 16" at some events and 22" at others. We train at 20" and move up to 22" at practice a week before a 22" trial.
Aussies are not anymore prone to jumping fences than any other athletic dog.

It is not common for any dog to jump what is to keep them inside the property. I would personally put a small choke on the dog or pup and walk around the fence, if it tried, pop that choke straight up then let go quickly and say NO JUMPING!
You might have to string some electric if it is going to continue a bad habit that has started but worth a try to stop it now. I only have a 4 foot fence around and these dogs can scale a six foot walll without a run, they just do not know they can jump to get out, they have no reason to leave here.
Try walking and training the border of your property, anytime it tried to step over it pop the choke up quickly, then release. Along with a firm voice and the pop of the choke, it is maybe going to stay within the border, many that have bought pups from me have taught their pups to stay within their property and it works.:)

Aussie are extremely agile and good jumpers.... While mine have never been tempted there are some that can clear a 4 ft fence easily and have been known to escape even a 6 ft enclosure.
I know when I got my first Aussie I was cautioned that a 4 foot fence would not be high enough, though friends of mine have been able to confine their aussies behind a 4 ft barrier. I will say that one of my friends dogs Rosie did manage to clear a 6 foot portion of her fence but it was only to come and say hello to me, and not to escape, so it can be done. There are those who will scale a fence but it's not necessarily breed specific.
My breeder has two escape artists that manage to open the gate to their yard and set the other dogs free, so it's a matter of making sure the enclosure is secure and that they can't scale or dig under or open the gate to freedom.
