I have no objection whatsoever to people seeing my profile, friends, threads, etc. But I was wondering - someone coming online as a 'guest' still has access to all that information. So if we have a conversation with another member it is visible for everyone to see.
My daughter came online as a guest and was able to access anyone's profile - everything but private messages. Is it because there is maybe a cookie on my computer - or is this info. available for everyone?
Its just that on other forums you have to be a member to view member information.
Look forward to your reply.

Currently yes.
Several similar forums have just upgraded the vbulletin software to version 3.7 and I have looked around - some allow guest access and some do not. There is a possiblity of disabling guest access.
Since there have been many changes associated with the upgrade we are in the process of putting together a list and asking for member input. You beat us to it. :)

Yea Carol, I have been reading everyone's messages on my page. I am confused now how to use this, not sure I like it. I liked plain pm messages, this is showing me Skuny's messages what she says and boy did she talk about me badly, NOT!!
She is a good cookie, I love her, she is not two faced. I like all on here, no enemies I hope so not? I am having fun reading and that does not seem fair to me. I am not nosey but when I go to my profile I see it all there.????? Confused yet about this change, how are the rest of you doing? Pat:D

Its strange - I've had 60 visits to my page and yet I've only got 6 friends - waiting for two to accept - LOL - you are one Shep.
With regard to music on Youtube - when I've put Jake's videos on I've put the music on before loading them up. Is that what you want to do?
Now Shep - I'm not blowing Skunky's trumpet cos it might make her head too big - LOL - joke! She's OK I suppose, not bad for a moderator (irony).

I am not up to speed on all the changes but here is whatI have decided for myself so far.
The "conversations" on your profile pages are like conversations you might be having at a cocktail party. Anyone can wander over and listen. For now, the door is open to to the street so and it is not a 'members only party.' So don't say anything you would be embarrassed to have come back to you. (no one is doing that anyway, now are they? ;) )
The "Private Message" system is more like handing someone a note in a sealed envelope. Members can't see them and certainly not guests.
So if you feel uncomfortable with the conversations, don't use them. For now I personally find them a good alternative for members who do not have PM enabled or who are very limited in the number of PMs they can have stored.
