Well done owners of retired racing greyhounds

I just wanted to say well done to all people who own a retired racing greyhound or who donate to the charitys. I would love a retired greyhound, they are such sweet dogs, but i cant have another dog at the moment. I admire people who do rehome them, as its so much better than buying a greyhound- your giving them a better chance at life. So many are put down or given to these weridos who shoot them for money.

It's no hardship owning a retired greyhound, they are fantastic dogs :) I am very glad that we decided that a greyhound was the right dog for us :)

Lovely sentiments expressed, and I couldn't agree more.

As I type our retired racer Barney is asleep next to me - as he almost always is. He is a delight to have in our lives and is sweet, gentle, docile, polite and loving. He is the greatest!

Heaven knows what fate may have awaited Barney had he not been in the care of an ethical trainer who found him a good home (ours) when he became injured and could no longer run to earn his keep. We need to keep working to raise awareness so that all greyhounds have a chance to express themselves as all dogs should - as loving pets and free souls, as opposed to being expendable commodities.

Greyhounds are the best dogs ever, I would never home anything else now:D We had 6 here until last friday when we lost our old girl, we miss her so much. We will be taking on another foster next week, sadly she is likely to have lost her leg after a RTA. I'm looking forward to helping her on the road to recovery and a new life:D
