My husband and I adopted a puppy last week and have started to crate him for a few hours every day. Problem is, he won't stop crying and whines the whole time. We've only crated him 3 times but he is not getting any better, maybe even worse. Is this normal?? How long does it take for puppies to get use to the crate??

Try putting a small bed in the crate add some toys and a nylon bone and some treats leave crate door open untill puppy feels secure to go in and out. Play with him when he is in the crate give him his treats so he knows they are there. When you feel he feels OK with the crate start clossing the door for a few mins. at a time to start with and gradually increase the time untill you can leave him. Go out of the room and strait back in and increase the time. He will soon get used to it. Hope this helps. Good Luck and let me know how you get on. Regards Nancy.
