Definitely looks like a bully breed, and is quite possible that it is an American Staffordshire Terrier or Staffordshire Bull Terrier. Some of the bully breeds look so much alike, I have a hard time telling them apart.

Staffordshiore Terriers and AmStaffs are not "nasty". They are wonderful dogs for the experienced owner.

AKC Breed Standard temperament:
Temperament
From the past history of the Staffordshire Bull Terrier, the modern dog draws its character of indomitable courage, high intelligence, and tenacity. This, coupled with its affection for its friends, and children in particular, its off-duty quietness and trustworthy stability, makes it a foremost all-purpose dog.

From The Staffordshire Terrier Club of America:
This is a very people oriented dog, who delights in
contact with his family. He has a finely developed sense
of humor. He needs a very interactive owner, who wants
to spend time with his pet; a firm and loving owner who
will give him the training required to bring his great
abilities to their full potential.
Although not the best choice for a watch dog because of
his generally friendly nature, the Am Staff will protect
his family. His courage is proverbial. His loyalty is
unwavering.

After looking at AKC breed illustrations he looks more like an American Staffordshire Terrier (AmStaff) than a Staffordshire Terrier (Staffie). Just a hunch...I'm no expert.
Here's the AKC breed illustrations:

AmStaff (this guy has cropped ears though): http://www.akc.org/images/breeds/american_staffordshire_terrier/sm_artwork.jpg

well i have three and they are lovely i dont disagree but they are somtimes quite nasty only one of mine has been but that was sorted out so there they are fighting dogs for gods sakes they are breed to be NASTY just like you.

As a bully breed owner, I would hope that you understand that you have somewhat of a responsibility to be a breed ambassador and not perpetuate the bullies are bad stereotype. Maybe for the lurkers you could elaborate on the nasty experience that a trainer with 20 years experience, such as yourself, could not prevent, and also elaborate on why you like the breed enough to own three. Also, could you please back up the statement that they are bred to be nasty, since that is not at all the case? The well-bred bully breeds are bred to have rock-solid temperaments in all interactions with humans.

It looks like a Staffie or Am staff and a very nice looking dog too!

Many years ago I knew someone that was getting rid of a 'nasty' staff I agreed to be the handover point for the dog, I had someone look after my own dogs as after all these dogs are 'killers'!! Well, when she arrived she melted our hearts because she was so docile and lovable my friend who was rehoming her just fell in love straight away. 'Boots' was with her for 10 years and she was 100% reliable with everyone - my friend has since had 4 more staffies and everyone has been a pleasure to have known. Admittedly, they are very powerfull but so gentle in their natures. I think the 'nasty' ones get it from their owners :(
Oh, and Boots orginal owner didn't want her because she wasn't 'nasty'!!!
