What shampoo does everyone use on their dog?
I'm interested in switching to a different one.
Thanks!:D

I have been told by a number of people that oatmeal based shampoo is the way to go.

For sure Oatmeal based with berries for smell and shine, got at Petco and lovely scent my daughter uses alot, did my two new pups cause they came a long way from Netherlands and stunk to high heaven on dirt floor kennels otherwise a well bred Shepherd needs never a bath unless it rolls on deal bird or whatever, just ten minutes brush a day and WALLA great going but start against the growth of hair with a rack or detangler then brush down when u remove deal undergrowth all needed Shepherds are NO maintentance.

I use PetGold oatmeal shampoo that I got at Petco. I also got the conditioner there for free. I have only used the shampoo so far and like it very much. :)

I like to combine shampoos for Brandi. Her fur is so thick and so hard to penetrate with the water and suds that I like to use a 2/3 - 1/3 ratio of tea tree oil shampoo and regular baby shampoo. It cleans her nicely but doesn't strip her fur of natural oils.

I use Quistel on my doggies. I used to buy a few different shampoos as my dogs have different coats types, but when my Shar pei had some fur loss this shampoo was recommended to me - it worked brilliantly and her coat and skin are looking great, have also found it does a fab job on my other dogs too :thumbsupsmiley:

I have a question,
How often do you wash your dog? I have been told only a few times a YEAR. If this is true, doesn't your dog smell? Is there a such thing as doggy perfume. hehe :)

Yes, actually there are quite a few dog perfumes.
I have a show dog so he usually gets a bath at least once a month.
Otherwise i think once every two-three months would be OK.

Jake has an oily coat; he swims about 3 times a week. If he doesn't swim I bath him with Neem 40 shampoo - its lovely (apparently you can use it on humans too).

what do u think about a automatic dog washer... where you don't have to do anything but put the dog in it

Hmmmmmm well, in my humble opinion tactile contact with your dog is good for you both - I'd worry that it went wrong.

most dogs its fine to bath about evry 6 or 8 weeks as long as u leave it long enough to build up the natural oils again or useing a really good shampoo but it all depends on the breeds as well as some done have any grooming so they get very dirty.

and there r some grate finishing sprays they smell grate :)

Hi everyone,

My doggy (Pumpkin, a golden retriever/ duck toller retriever mix) has food allergies and because of this, her body gives off this very foul odor. You can especially smell it everytime she scratches. I was wondering if anyone had any recommendations for a shampoo that works great to get rid of the smell and that works for dog's with allergies:confused: Thanks for your help!

Luv Pumpkin and Valerie :o
