How much food is enough. I think the bag is saying to give my puppy 2 cups a day. Does that sound right? It also says to feed the pup 3 times a day. 2 cups spread out in three meals?

How old is your pup ?

Feeding three times a day is right for a young pup. One thing I would do is watch the pup's weight, if you feel he is too skinny add more food, say half a cup if you feel he is too heavy lessen then amount.

I agree with Doberman three times is what I feed mine if I catch a rapid gain of weight or raped growth go to adult or cut back, I hate to cut back so I either go to large breed puppy or adult. Puppies burn more calories than adults at times and are growing. It is a good thing to dampen with warm water and stir to let any gases escape also. I have never had a dog with Bloat, etc. Good luck

He is ten weeks old and weighs 20 pounds. He is a collie. Now I have been feeding him 2X a day.

Three times is better at that age, but if it isn't feasible with your schedule twice is fine.

They usually say to feed a puppy 3 times a day until he's 6 mths than you can go down to 2.As for the amount,I would follow Doberman and sheplov
advice.

I definately agree, 3 times a day for the pup, and then 2 times a day after 6 months. I only give my pitbull about 3 1/2 cups per day, and he is 1. So the amount sounds good.

Sweetheart if you find it is not eating 3 meals a day then that is toooo much in this heat, so cut to 2 and go with the flow. Execise lightly in heat, water freely always, never let them gulp a large amount, keep it available at all times and keep the containers free and clean. I think you can pick and choose among us all here and just keep a close eye on weight gain as rolly polly pups are out these tough days of disease, etc. Just feed morning n late afternoon, that is how i feed my puppies. Now my new borns when I start to wean I feed a little now, a little later soaked and sloppy and see how much and how many can eat it well enough without wasting. Just a test to tell how hungry your pet really is. Avoid human foods or treats from the table they have no good value to our pets only us. Nutrition is only in RAW.
