When I awoke and my husband who gets up at five a.m. told me I could not believe it, I thought he was joking me. I watched him like a kid. I admired his love for animals, all of them no matter what kind. He took chances but he had no fear, I thought he would die of natural old age or something not by one of his loved animals. How sad for wife and two children. Gosh this is bad.:(

He was passionate about his work, it's terrible what happened.
He was sending out such a good message through what he did. :(

If only we all had the desire to help and lived life so totally to the full. He was one of the greats, I'm in shock that someone who did so much good was killed in such a sad and unlucky way.
You taught us a lot Steve, your warmth, caring and energy made you a beautiful person.

This is so sad....there where 2 shows running one after another on animal planet last night. Steve talked about being remembered after he was gone. How he would like his kids to follow in his foot prints with teaching about animals and conservation. They talked about him loosing his mother a few years ago in a car accident and how hard it was for him. It was so sad hearing him talk about the death of a family member knowing that it is his wife and children and rest of his family going threw it now... I felt like I knew him...I cried watching the show. There is supposed to be another show tonight dedicated to him at 6pm in our area. This world lost a great man when he died.

It Is Sad, Especially Since He Did Nothing Wrong. Stingrays Don't Attack Unless They Are Scared, And He Must Have Frieghted The Ray, And He Just Happened To Be Above Him, And He Just Happened To Get It Right Into The Heart. Very Unfortunate, And He Had Some Of The Greatest Shows. He Will Be Missed.
