Flea bites on humans? How to treat?

Does anyone know how to remove the bites or how to treat them for humans?

Also... once the dog has the fleas treated, is there any tips to keeping them away?

This is a toughie. i don't think I have ever had a flea bite me. But my dogs do get fleas from time. IN FACT, this morning I sprayed the yard for fleas as i had found a few on my dogs. Beling goldens with long, thick fur and then the thick undercoat, it is hard to find fleas on them--except when they are on the belly.

Well, I srayed the yard and then went to the vet and got 3 Capstar tabs to give my dogs to killed fleas right away. This is only good for 24 hours. I also got Frontline Plus. I hope between killing all the fleas on my dogs and spryaing my yard we will be flea free for a couple of weeks anyway.

There are about 8 dogs in the yard behind us, one outside and 4 inside on on our left and 3 pitties behind them. Neighbors on other side have 1. And there are cats running loose and of course squirrels, so is hard to keep the fleas away.

On the dogs, tea tree again - great stuff!

Do you have cats? I'm told fleas don't actually breed on dogs, just jump on for a feed then jump off again - it's the cats that they live on.
So if you have, you need to do them too.

Have you treated your house? You need a good vetinarian strength flea spray to do the house.
Also, what stuff are you using on the dog? Is it Frontline? That's the only brand I've found to be any good (its the one you put on the banck in between the shoulder blades)

But - the cycles of a flea is approx 4 weeks. So to be completely clear in the house, you really need to treat all animals monthly for 6 months and the house every other month.

Sounds grim doesn't it? I have awful problems with them :(

No I do not have cats, but there would be plenty in the area (let alone on the beach where he plays usually).

I have had my carpets all cleaned and vaccumed and had him proff cleaned with anti-flea stuff

I have treated him with both advantix (sux) and frontline (seems better) so I hope that gets them

I will repeat this proceedure in 2weeks to make sure he rids himself.

i once had a few flea bites and used insect after bite cream and that helped lots. once you have gotten rid of thr fleas on your dog feed it 2 oderless garlic capsules a day and this will keep the fleas away.

I use Fronline Plus on my dogs. They've never had a flea. Works for ticks too. It's also waterproof which is a plus!

I use spot on, on both my dogs which gets rid of fleas and tics, on the same day I use the spot on I wash thier bedding just to make sure there are none in there,it's also a good idea to use a spray on the carpets and rugs also the chairs they get on. It is a bigger problem in the warm weather.
