The chat room was removed due to security concerns not due to a lack of interest. It will be brought back as soon as it can be done safely.

Well, Since It Is Is About Safety, Could It Be Set Up That It Is Only Open On A Schedule, At The Most Peak Hours Of The Day, Or Different Times Of The Day That A Moderator, Or Two Could Be There To Monitor The Chat?? Just An Idea To Maybe Get The Chat Back....

Yes Chad - anything to get chat back. Some of us obviously have 'separation anxiety'. When people are afraid of their kids and loved ones using chat rooms on the internet I can understand there could be safety issues. But a moderator would be a good idea - and I'm sure that the members would even be prepared to take turns at moderation to ease the burden on admin, dobeman's etc.
Just a thought

I think my security comment was a bit misconstrued. It's not a matter of Internet security in the sense of protecting members from predators and the like. While we certainly fully support and encourage members being cautious and careful with sharing personal information on the Internet, that is left up to the individual member. Our concern was due to potential security problems with the site. The chat software did not meet with our security standards, so it was removed until such time as we can install a secure chat client.
