View Full Version : Made tunnel for agility
Hey what do you think of the new tunnel i made for tj? it isnt finished yet, still have to buy material to cover it and i havnt fully straitened it up yet but you can get the idea? just finished puting it toogether yesterday, i made it out of some old pipes and joints i had left from an old project, just measured and cut the pieces down to size, i havnt glued it yet so if you think its too small to big or needs change please let me know.
Hope you like it and that he will too.

that is awsome! Good brain work! lol ;)
Thanks :) ive also made some jump bars for him too only small ones for now though untill he is older and when he gets use to the tunnel i will make him a jumping hoop :)
Any idea how you would get him to go through the entire tunnel succesfully lol, ive got him to go into the first section by baiting him with one of his toys but how would i get him use to running in one end and coming out the other?
For jump bars i run with him and lead him with his leash on and he jumps them great but for the tunnel i cant use a leash.

I am not sure this would work for you. But I have seen some people teach the tunnel by actually going through the tunnel themselves and having the dog follow behind them on a leash.
Or, they've gone through first themselves and placed treats at intervals along the tunnel, then sent the dog through on their own and be waiting on the other end with a treat, make sure your dog can see you through the tunnel at the end, you'll obviously have to be kneeling there. Just gradually minimize the treats until its just you at the end with the treat, he'll more than likely be tearing through it at that point to get to you and the treat!
If you don't want to use food, put his favorite toy on some string, pull it through and I am sure he'll follow.
