I have an 8 week old yellow lab. For potty trips I take her to the backyard, on a leash, even though it is fenced. For playtime my kids & I let her run in the backyard loose and she has stayed very close to us. We have a wooded area/forest at the back of the property. I have been potty training her just before the tree line. We have not allowed her to go into the forest, because of underbrush, mud, mosquitos, assorted critters etc... Even though she has never been in the forest, she has now become obsessed with it. Both potty trips & playtime now involve her trying to go exploring where she should not be exploring. It is becoming a fight. She is barking, whinning & struggling like mad on the leash.
My older dogs were allowed in the forest & she will be too, when she is older. It's just not the place for a puppy.
I don't want to walk her in the front yard, as she has not had all her shots & there is a good deal of dog activity out front.

Does anyone have any ideas on how to get her to stop this? She does not know any commands yet.

She is only 8 wks old. Wait till she is 12 wks, 16 wks, 20 and so on.....
These first 6 months at least, will be spent learning and exploring her new environment. Just when you think she has one thing figured out she will change to something totally different.

Is she food motivated?
Maybe taking a treat outside will divert attention back to you when she is exploring.

Thanks for the suggestions.
We have started setting up a temporary fence at the tree line. We will take it down at the end of spring, next year. She'll be almost a year then.
I am pretty sure she will still be drawn to the area, just not able to enter it. The treats that Brunosmom suggested should help divert her attention.
