Corgi cross Jack doing loose poo

Hi im new here and desperate for help, as you can all understand the cost of vet bills are a bit crazy and im looking for an opinion online if i can find one!

I have a 2 yr old Corgi cross Jack Russel and the last three days she has been doing very runny poo, and not just that, shes doing it inside and refuses to do it outside like she normally does. She still eats her food and drinks water and is pretty bright and happy still.

Anyone got any ideas?

There are a lot of potential causes for the problem your dog is experiencing. Unfortunately, despite the potentially high cost of vet visits, it's probably called for in this case, especially if the problem persists for another day or two. Our pup exhibited similar issues last summer, and it turned out to be as a result of an infection. She seemed perfectly happy and playful, ate normally, etc., but she would go in her crate (very messily), which is something she never did before or since. A week's worth of pills, and she was back to normal. I'm pretty sure that was something that wouldn't have worked itself out on it's own.

So, in summary, I would strongly suggest getting into the vet, especially if the problem doesn't resolve itself in the immediate future.

Agree with Taeric, take Pup to the vet just to rule anything out. Don't want to scare you, but gastric bugs can go pear shaped very quickly indeed.
Are you insured? That should help out a lot with vet bills....

I personally would start pup on a 24 hour fast immediately. Because the degestion tract in a dog is so short, any food ingested can actually 'feed' bacteria and make it a whole lot worse (whereas we humans just barf up any toxins - sorry)
After 24 hours, give 1/4 of daily food allowance and see what happens. If the stools are OK, build up to full food amount over a few days.

A few spoons of canned pumpkin in their food is also good. I am talking the pure, unseasoned pumkpin, not the already seasoned kind. Also, plain yogur is good for the digestive system.

But I do think if this is not cleared in a day or so, get to the vet.

But I do think if this is not cleared in a day or so, get to the vet.I'm curious about how the canned pumkin works to help with digestive issues. I have heard the bacteria in yogurt is often beneficial, but the pumpkin one is new to me (I'm genuinely curious and not trying to be sarcastic :)).

Sorry, I'm hijacking the off-topic bit too, but me too with the pumpkin - never heard of that before!

I have heard that pumpkin seeds are good for worms - crush one up and put it in food and it expels all the worms - although I hasten to add that I've never tried that, so wouldn't trust it wholeheartedly....

Many on the dachshund rescue list use pumpkin for runs. And it can also help with constipation. We also keep a vile of good bacteria from yogurt on hand when a dog comes in with non stop runs. We get it thru the vet, but, you can get it thru a catalogue. Or just buy in a good health store pure acidolophus witha high count of good bacteria
