Yet its on thurasdays from 6:00 to 7:30. We went for the "run through" which means you bring your dog to be tested to see if they listen to you and to test if they are not hostile to people or other dogs. Oakley did fine, especially with the hot dog pieces in my pocket!:D But our friends told us about this place and their son and hos dog are in the class.
His dog's name is Rusty and he is an irish terrier, i WAS looking forward to meeting him, byut on the night of the run through I didn't like him so much anymore.
I had never seen an irish terrier, neither had Oakley. So when they brought him in the dogs sniffed each other like dogs do. They had been telling me Rusty is only about a year old and only been to one whole session of obedience class with danny (the son, dog's owner.) So, they said that when he has his training collar on he was an angel. (he did have the collar on)
So come time to do the run through It was Oakley's turn; she did great! I always walk her off leash so she did very good at that and listened to me the whole time. Well, then it was Rusty's turn. As soon as the leash was off he went wild! Danny kept calling him but he didn't come and it took like 3 minuets! Rusty was just doing his own thing. Well, to make a long story short they made it! They passed the run through! (i think the evaluation lady was just being nice) but yeah, they are in.
So, on the way out Rusty started snarling at oakley! He started lunging at her and the only thing holding him back was a prong collar and a ten year old! AND Danny told be that once their other dog (nikki, mini poodle) Got one of Rusty's snacks and he did her and made her bleed!:wtf: Well, just sayin I don't want Rusty near oakley when he is off leash and the whole class is off leash! I'm kinda scared. But, thats my experience. We go tonight, I'll be sure to tell everyone what happens. =)

We just got back and she did fine! Rusty was good too, phew! Yes, we worked on the tunnle the jumps and the wobble board. There was an obedience class going on at the same time and i saw like 3 dobermans! 2 Black and tans and 1 red. also there was anothe really big red one doing tracking. but he was HUGE! Way bigger than any doberman should be. =(

Ok, just got back from her 3rd lesson. I was afraid that she wouldn't get the curved tunnel, But she did! I was sooo happy. And tonight was kinda embarrassing because oakley felt a little present on the floor! (i wasn't pee!) But besides that she did VERY good, we started a frame chute and weave poles today. I think she'll be great at the chute. We'll just have to wait and see.

Yeah, this is a little late but this last session was really laid back, we dd everything over again but started the broad jump, Oakley was fine with it so we got done early so the trainer could work with rusty. He is afraid of the teeter, weave poles, chute, and broad jup. Funny thing about that is he did them fine before. He is just suddenly won't go near them. Ou of the 6 dog in our class, 3 showed up. sooooo, no lesson next week because of thanksgiving. but I look foreward to the next one.

I have a question, How are you training your dogs to do weaves, and is your teeter at full height, Zoey was scared of the teeter at first, because of the noise it mavde when it hit the ground, but is doing fine now, we put a deflated ball under the edge so that it would ne bang as she went down, and shes DONIG IT GREAT NOW!! Shes almost done all levels , shes just got to wait for her 18 month old b-day and learn the weaves and we will be trialing!!

We do our weaves with 2x2s. A lot of people have said that htey are better than the leuing method, they say that if you do it with 2x2s the dogs entrance seems to be better...

OBTW, Tessa, I think I know who you are... I am AgilityPup on another forums :)

We arent even on the teeter yet. We started with a wobble board wiht small carpets under it so It wouldn't make a noies. But now they are raising it up it the pause table so the dogs get used to going up it and then it coming down. And weaves we started with them as far out as they can go and then calling the dogs through it, It worked well with oakley but the other dogs still don't quite get it.
