I figured I'd stick this in the exercise-related forum since a lot of toys are for exercise lol...
What toys do you prefer for your dogs (or do your dogs prefer)?
I'm partial to the Buster Cube since it's interactive and makes my dog work for her meals. My dog LOVES soft (canvas or nylon) frisbees and tennis balls! She also loves the rope tug toy.

Tennis balls, she has a squeaky moose that she had since she was a puppy, we just got some new frisbees, it takes her a bit to figure out how to pick them up....lol and I just got her a new rope that she loves!!
I want to get her a kong too, I am trying to decide which one to get her, the regular roundish one, or the kind of hexagonal thing that has the splits to help clean their teeth.
I have never heard of the Buster Cube.

Just about anything by Nylabone has been a great addition to our toy collection. Not only does our pup love them, but they are incredibly durable. She has had several different straight bones as well as one of their big, knobby teeth cleaning bones (her favorite!)
Nothing beats a good ol' tennis ball (or two!) for a good time. Ours like to chew on one ball while playing "soccer" with the other.

The 2 English Springers I grew-up with preferred vinyl squeak toys. Kyle's favorite was a hamburger squeak toy, and his brother Kodi's favorite was a frog squeak toy. They were not big chewers, so their squeak toys lasted for years:)
My last Springer was a huge chewer, he destroyed vinyl squeak toys in 10-20 minutes. He liked plush squeak toys, but always disemboweled them within an hour or two. He LOVED his Kong toy, and it stood up very well during the short time I had with him (he was euthanized @ 27 months due to a seizure disorder that didn't respond to medication). After his Kong, Elton's other favorite toys were his Galileo Bone (made by Nylabone); Plaque Attacker (also Nylabone); tennis balls; and a sterilized bone a friend gave him:p I know now that fresh bones are actually safer though.

I long ago gave up with squeaky toys and standard dog toys - they get destroyed within minutes!
They love kongs, and nylabones, we currently have liver, bacon and chocolate flavour :D
But the range is fantastic - you can get grape, strawberry, vanilla, watermelon....I'm thinking of having a go myself ;)
Oz loved to play football (soccer) until his sight went, even now he looks at our feet to see if there might be a ball miraculously appear :) But even if we try he careers off into a hedge, or worse still Maggie gets it and that's just the ultimate insult....

My 7 y.o. female golden has always had strong maternal instincts so she LOVES fuzzy or fleece squeaky toys.

I used to get Zoe lots of fleece squeaker toys, but she'd always destroy them. Her first toy I bought was a squeaky teddy bear that last quite awhile. Now all she has are rubber squeakies. Her favs are her football, stuffed kitty that meows instead of squeaks, and green xmas ball her pup cousin Marley gave her :P But now she really loves her kong. She even "throws" it at me when she wants it refilled lol! Also, when we're in the backyard I'll throw a tennisball, nylon frisbee, or just a stick. She doesn't always bring them back. She'll make me chase her :D

I went nuts when I got Chili a week ago and spent a fortune on every toy imaginable.
You know what he likes? An empty toilet tissue roll and an empty plastic pop bottle.
Go figure. :)

Durable squeeky balls, flexible frisbees, and rope bones. The rope bones usually only last about a week or so, until I wake up one morning and there are bits and pieces of it all over my living room. But I still buy them again anyway b/c they love them. They only touch the kong toy when there is a treat inside. :)

Falise-Gets tennis balls, ropes,Kongs, and we put together these Felt like material braided rope things, they like tugging with.
Tyson- LOVES his stuffed toys, But he cant have them as the fact as soon as him and Falise get excited... it is tug time with it, and POOF White fluff everywhere! LOL And we have Kongs, and this Giggly Ball, which is something like the Buster CUbe, but it is A Ball with a hole to put food in,and when it is rolled around it makes this giggly like noise, and I had to buy a 2nd one, cause the one wasnt enough.. LOL Both my dogs like it!

I'm starting to think Georgia might be a little "slow' after reading all of these posts about the Buster cube. We bought one for her several weeks ago but she never did figure it out. She'd just look at it and slide (not roll/flip it) across the floor. Obviously no treats came out.
As for other toys, she loves nylabones, Kong, plush toys (which are promptly disemboweled to find the 'squeaky'), Molecuball (which she "ate" when I stuffed it full of a treat she couldn't get out), booda bones (to toss in the air and sometimes gnaw on), and this orange ball that we fill with treats that will come out when she rolls it around. Actually, I think orange ball might be her fav.
Oh, and towels. She LOVES to chew on towels and blankets. Her own, of course. :D
She also likes to like our feet when we get out of the shower, but I don't think I'd classify "feet" as a toy. :p

Kongs,
My dog loves his.
It also helps clean his teeth.
I found the greatest toy the other day. I'm on a listserv for huskies and someone was trying to give everyone ideas for "interactive" toys...and she showed me the greatest toys ever! This company makes a toy that is a plush tree and has squirrels in it that the dogs have to figure out how to take OUT of the holes the tree. You stuff the fluffy squirrels inside the tree and they nose at it. It's so cute! They have other concepts that work the same way too.

My Shepherds adore me throwing the Tennis Balls, Fressbie's, Kong they chew on, nylabone big ones, RAW beef soup bones as a treat now and then, rope toys with supervision, they play tug of war as the are of the working lines and show lines, gives them something to do to tire out.:D
Poppy loves the kong whereas Mickey loves to play football :)

A full kong - preferably with dog food and cubed carrots - he likes squeaky soft toys -
or Jake's water toys - even then if we forget them he'll find a plastic drink bottle for me to throw

My dogs favourite things are ....
The Staffy likes her Staffy ball...An indestructible ball that is guaranteed for nine months with a staffy three years with any other dog.(great investment as she destroyed all other socer balls that I have brought her)
The Aussie Bulldog likes stuffed toys and empty drink bottles .We used to give her tennis balls,But she just ate them (LITERALLY). So now when she wants to play ball inside we use an apple instead and roll it up the hallway ( At least when she eats it, its not going to harm her)
They also have a variety of other toys ....But the above are their faves !!!
