How old is the pup? How much research have you done on rotts? Are you prepared for the responsibility that comes with a rott?
Is he OK with your dogs? Will he be in the pen w/ Lady too, or in the house? Rotts get big, and you said Lady isnt inside the house cuz she is too big.

5 months old, he is raised with 1 other dog too and hes not a bad boy towards other dogs.we use to have a rottweiler and my dads goin to help me raise him right.he'll be in the pen with lady if they get along if they dont then we will get another pen 4 him too.i think theyll get along since ladys a luver to other dogs if they dont start a fight or anything and hes raised with other dogs too.

How big is your pen? And Lady should be fixed before he moves in, also he can be fixed now also.

Is it like a back yard? Cuz 2 big dogs require more room than 1. Are you going to be able to take him for training classes? And your parents will help you out with buying stuff for him and taking him to the vet, etc? And has he had all his puppy shots? And rabies vaccine? Usually the rabies ends up being given at around 6 months so I assume he probably hasnt got that one yet? You will have to be sure and take him to the vet and get him checked out and get his shots up to date if they havent been.

Hi Kelsie,
I'm really pleased to hear that you used to have a rott and that your Dad is going to help you raise him right.
Rotts can be very stubborn, very dominant, and very destructive when bored. They are an incredibly intelligent breed, so the more you can train him, the better he will be.
I like to play 'mind' games with mine - games to make them think. Oscar loves to play hide and seek, I make him sit out of the room while I hide a piece of cheese and he has to find it. Games like that tire him out loads better than walking him for miles.
And talking of exercise - at 6 months old a rott should only really be having 10 mins or so 2 or 3 times a day. Any more than this and his leg joints could be damaged. Also, no steps/stairs for the same reason.
And I hate to say this as I love them so much, but please please always remember that these are very strong dogs, and I'm sure you know from media coverage that they can be very dangerous (as can any breed, but thanks to the media we have to put up with an awful lot...). Just be careful ;)
We'll be here to help with any problems if you need us x

thankyou mrs.rottie the rottweiler we use to have loved to attack people playfully but only on command though. he loved kids and we had him2 yrs and we got him when he was 5 from a mean person who fought him. i go hide for my dog then she comes to find me she loves to do that but she always finds me!my dad never wanted me to have a rott but after he saw how i bond with him he couldnt let the poor dog go to the pound and die since he hated strangers so much.well i bet i will have questions but right now hes stilll over at his house but we go over there and tickertop and i play with the other dog they have, scooters.

If your other dogs are still sick and/or dying, you may want to quarantine him. It would be a shame to expose a new pup to them until vet visit and necropsy are completed.

My rotti pup was 6 months when I got her and was very Stuborn but you just have to be firm and train him for 10mins. at a time to start with and gradually make it longer but dont put up with any nonsense while you are teaching him. It really does pay off, I've had Breagh for 4 months now and she is getting quite good on and off the leash. So good luck with your puppy and I hope you enjoy him and have as much fun with him as I have with mine.

well ladys gotten better and the other dog i had died already. ladys been eaten little at a time but she is eaten what she suppose to be eaten. the dog, tickertock(nickname) minds me and when i go over there hes minding better so thats why the man decided to ask me to get him. the dogs not really mean towards kids sooo i think he'll fit in this neighbor hood good but hes not really friendly to grown strangers or teens which is threatning to my sis but she dont like dogs so thats not as bad as it may seem.i know i'll have a great time with ole tickertock and he'll get along good with lady i hope!:)

What did your other dog die of? If it was Parvo, that disease can live in your house and yard and dog toys long after the infected dog has died. I would suggest sterilizing everything with bleach (or maybe color-safe bleach would work) before exposing the new dog. >O_O<
