Hi Everyone I Have Two Dogs

So we picked up my Valentine today...and my Mom had decided she'd like to raise a pup again for companionship and protection when she moves to Nevada in few years.

Valentine is a Bog and Nevada is a Girl, both are from the same litter and their Mum was a Lab Cross and their Father a Pure-Bred German Shepherd. Nevada is very small and the Shelter owner suggested that she may have been a runt. Val on the other hand is a very big boy.

Both have been home for a few hours today, they had their first shots yesterday and their Health Insurance plans were purchased today as well. We got them each PetPlans most expensive coverage so that EVERYTHING is covered reasonably well, just to be safe. The shelter was feeding them Iams puppy formula so we've continued that. They are very tired puppies and here are their pictures! Sorry the pics are so big...the poster wont seem to let me resize them!

Hi all,

Comet is the main dog we've had for the past six or so years. He's busy adapting to our new lifestyle - traveling through the American west in an RV! Right now it's mostly desert sands and rabbits, with occasional city parks with grass and palm trees.

We're not sure what he is - mostly Shepherd - but all that red, the shorter nose and curly tail have led to lots of speculation...:confused:

I dont currently have any dogs ... because my previous dog recently passed away. :( His name was D.Dog, and he was a Dachshund/Corgi mix. He lived a long and happy life for a good 14 years. He was more than you could ask for in a dog.

My profile pic is of a Ridgeback, as they are my fave breed! i really want to own one, and i want to breed them in the future hopefully. :)

I ahve just joined this site today. My boyfriend and I presently have four cats. He has decided to treat me to my life-long dream of owning my own dog. We are going to buy an American bulldog 11-week old bitch this week. One of our friends ahs already taken on one of her brothers.

I have read conflicting reports as to how these dogs get on with cats - some say they can get on fine others indicate otherwise. We would be using the crating method to begin with and slowly introduce the animals to each other. Please does anyone have any idea on this as the last thing I want to do is end up with a house where the animals don't get on together.

We have 7-year-old Ernie, 2-year-old Bailey, 8-year-old Monty and 9 month old Preston. We adopted 3 last year & Preston in January this year. Preston was born with deformed kidneys :( & went to the Vet. tonight to start SubQ fluids...Ernie is a survivor of severe abuse and we almost lost him twice last year and he has a heart-based cancerous tumor - we can't do anything for it b/c of his age but he's on Chinese Herbs & doing Great!!!! And Bailey is just Peculiar...Lol....he's healthy thank God...Monty was used as bait in Pit Bull fights :( but he is a Love Bug..Besides permanent embedded scars on his legs :eek: he is healthy :D So I hope we'll be posting frequently...we do get busy with all 4 but we would like to become involved in the forum too....

Hello All! My name is Katherine and I am new to the Forum. I have a long-legged, boisterous 11-month old Rhodesian Ridgeback named Kayla and I love her to death! She is my first dog as a "real" adult and I have absolutely fallen in love. I love taking her to our local park and watching her run and play with all of her friends. We have recently started beginning agility with an awesome trainer who has years of experience and who is incredible! Hi everyone, I'm new to this site. I've just brought a beautiful cavalier king charles puppy (collecting it in April), we chose a cavalier as we wanted a lovable family pet. Not knowing much about the breed beforehand we have only just noticed that he has an almost pure white face, unlike most cavs who all appear to have brown markings around the eyes, has anyone else ever come across this before, it does'nt mean that he's not still adorable !!

Yes he is a blondie, he is very much from the european show type goldens, although lots of his rellies are very good at the working trials too, and his litter sister takes from the working type. I know some of his rellies have also gone stateside to inject a bit of european blood to those in the usa who prefer his type:).

I am busy practising for his next show, which will be his birthday pressie in May.The championat de France is sort of the french Crufts so it will be HUGE, but I can't wait.

Hello all, new here, so i"ll introduce myself and my owners, i am a three year old rottie named Sky, who my kind owners took in by default really (but thats another story). Originally from a dog rescue home, I and another dog were locked in 1 room of a house and badly treated which has caused me to be very nervous but now i have my new mum and dad my life is totally different!! I walk my poms together, the two Huskies different times, because walking two huskies at the same time is a hand full. And my hun walk the german shephard, and then the two labs together. Sissy walks off-leash with everyone. She's gets along with all our dogs! Its great. I get alot of walks a day. :p

Hi all -introducing myself and Kujo the beaglier from Melbourne Australia.

Our family is a relatively new larger mix -Pete - my partner having moved in recently - the dog was the only part missing. Kujo is now 5 1/2 months old and is the most mischieviest dog I have ever owned but I wouldnt have it any other way -takes after Pete in a lot of ways.

I have never owned a dog that loved to take baths and showers. Put him in the bath and he whips the bubbles into a froth; he dives underwater; plays with the washcloth - dont need toys in there; and is disappointed when the water runs out.

He has a big box of toys but loves to play with empty plastic drink containers. Will eat ANYTHING and nothing is safe anymore -especially paper.

If anyone gets to meet him, can you please ask him what he has done with our Spiderman DVD!!!!!

Shadow03 what you are asking about is the avatar. If you have a picture that is the right size (120 x 120 pixels, not larger than 64 kB) you can upload it to your user profile. Go to "User CP" at top of page, on the left you will see "edit avatar". Click that, then you can upload from your computer or from another site. Don't forget to "save changes" and then it should show up.

Hi, I've just joined this forum. My name is Mary and I currently have four greyhounds. My oldest, Missy, turned nine today. She was a special needs adoption, a real spook when she joined our family 7 years ago. She is still quirky, but has settled in nicely over the years. She takes a daily run at high speed around our half acre yard, then runs back to her bed to snooze the day away :) She has one recorded race, I'm sure they couldn't get her out of the starting gate, she used to be so afraid. So she came here at under two years of age. Then we get to Sam, a brindle that has crooked legs. He came to us at 15 months instead of going to the track. His breeder placed him with us. I had lost my "heart" dog Red earlier in 2002, and decided to get a youngster. Sam's sister Budget broke her leg racing the same weekend we had put our old Dobe down in heart failure. It was an omen, Budget joined the family. Then in 9/05, I got a call from the breeder that the Geneva Lakes track in WI was closing. I guess once a track annouces they are closing, the staff begins to leave and they is not enough people to care for the dogs. They wanted sister Izzy out quick, but I was over dog limit, so said I would foster her. Owner picked her up at the track and she came straight to my house. Talk about right off the track. She was TINY compared to Sam and Budget and of course she has a permanent home here now too! I've had two retired racers cross the bridge too, Red from bone cancer at 11, he had a track injury in the same place when I adopted him....and Stormy, a blue from the same kennel, same owner, we put down last May at 14-1/2 because he was failing badly in old age. I've peeked around here and it looks like a great place to be! I'm not usually so wordy, but figured I would introduce my whole dog family :) My three brindles are now 5 years old.

New here. 3 dogs. All terrier mix with many other breeds. I got the first two when they were puppies. The 3rd one I just adopted 5 months ago. She was already 6 years old and had quite a temper. I don't know what the previous owners did (whether abuse or neglect), but it took me all these months to finally calm her down. To give you an idea of how she behaved just a few months ago, the first thing she did when she came home with me was attacked my other two dogs. One of them was limping the rest of the day.

The good news is nowadays they actually run around playing with each other.

These are a new addition to our family, Teddy was born on the 11th April and Ellie was born on the 9th April, I'm new to owning Bichon Frise and any good advice will be very much appreciated.
Both are currently 9 weeks old, we have had Teddy for 2 weeks now but only got Ellie on monday, so she is still a little timid, but they have hit it off straight away, very playful, especially at 5 in the morning. Both have took to the crate with no problem at all, Teddy is paper trained and also he wanders outside on the odd occasion, but Ellie needs to learn ,(steamer at the ready) lets hope she learns as quickly as teddy, about 4 days before he headed towards the paper without guidance.
Ellie had her first injection yesterday, and i've noticed today her poo is runny and a small amount of blood is visible, only a small amount, but if she's like it in the morning i am going to ring the vet, Has anyone else had this sort of problem and if so any advice would be very welcome.

She can be a real handfull sometimes (just this week we had an incident with a pillow - I'm still picking tiny white feathers out of absolutely everything) but on the whole she's a good dog. And I think she's beautiful.

I've just treated her to a new collar to show off her good looks, and a photographer friend of mine (hi Daniel!) took this portrait. She just looks SO cute! What you can't see is me, just right-of-frame, holding a dog-chew and begging Baya to please sit still!

Everyone's dogs are beautiful....I think one of the best things in life is to own a pet (especially a DOG!!). Meet my two babies..KiKi and Auggie. Auggie is an Australian Sheppard/Black Lab mix and KiKi is a Golden Retriever/Sheppard mix. My two best pals in the world! Auggie will be five years young on July 4 and KiKi will turn three in January. They are best buddies with each other and I feel that it was a great move to get two dogs, Auggie just fell in love with her when I brought her home! They go pretty much everywhere with me and my fiance' and now with the warm weather here, their favorite spot is swimming in the pool @ grandma's house. Take care all and remember KEEP YOUR BABIES COOL IN THE HEAT!!!

Hi there! My name is Liz and just 2 days ago I acquired a little terrier puppy! We think he's a Yorkshire terrier but he was rescued from a very nasty person who was about to "dispose" of him so we're not sure. :mad: Will try to put a picture up ASAP!
