:D Hello to all here. I am new here, of course, and this forum was recommended to me by a friend. I am a member of another forum online that is very helpful, and the people are nice also. I live in Kentucky, and am the owner of a little miniature Dachshund named Sugar. She's the light of my life. We are always together, she never leaves my side. I have an enormous love of animals, especially dogs. They hold a vry special place in my heart. I look forward to making new friends here, and would love to be able to email some new friends. I'll try to enter some pics of my little Sugar, when I figure out how, lol !! I look forward to meeting all of you soon.......

I have always found the best dogs at the pound or a place like that. I think mixed breeds make the best pets. But if you want a pure bred I think for kids boxers make great pets.

;) Hello,
I see you live in Tennessee. I live in Kentucky. Where in Tenn. do you live. I am in a little small town called Pineville, not very far from the Tenn. line. You go through a tunnel to get into Tenn. from here. I do agree with you about the dogs from the shelters making good pets. They all need homes so bad, and I think it's great that people adopt them from shelters. I use to volunteer here at the local shelter, but haven't been in a while. I need to go back soon. I have a littel doxie, she's so special, and the light of my life. Glad to meet you........ Have a great day.......

Sorry to take so long to answer - my computer is giving me a fit. I live in the middle southern part of Tennessee in a little town called Lewisburg. I have had many dogs and most of them have been mixed breeds. I either get them from friends, cause they know I can't turn one down, or I stop and pick them up off the side of the road. They look so sad and lonely that I just can't leave them there.
My dog, Ralph, who I adopted from the pound, lets me live with him. He is spoiled rotten of course. He was an adult dog when I got him. So many people don't want adult dogs, but they need a good home just like the puppies do.
I have a question or two for you. How do I upload a pic on the side like I see all down though here and how do you even get to the chat room. I haven't had time to look around much yet.

Hi from Tennessee. I bet the dogs in dogs in England are just as loving as they are in the US. (-: I know that your 2 dogs got a really good home, they are some of the lucky ones. I love all animals and hate that so many of them don't get good homes. Dogs, cats, and horses are my favorite, but I have had emu, goats, and ducks also. I used to live in the country, but now live in an apartment and one dog is all I can handle right now. His name is Ralph and I adopted him from the pound. He looks like a Pom but is mixed with something. Sometimes I think he is mixed with a mule. :-)
How's the weather where you live? It can't seem to decide if it wants to be spring or winter here. One day it is hot and the next day it is cold. We've been having a lot of bad weather lately.
I can now say I know someone in England. We'll chat again I'm sure.

hi Ritak8 thanks for replying....yes the dogs in England are lovely its a shame though that so many are without a home. In the rescue near me almost 200 animals are without a home and its unfair. My 2 dogs are very happy i hope and sometime in the future we may apply a new edition well maybe..... The weather in England is typical lol....freezing cold, rain, sleet, hale but somtimes the sun appears...for april its mighty chilly but were expecting a wet but hot summer....so u used to live in the country that sounds nice...i live in a big city but would so much prefer the country anyways now i can say i know someone in Tennessee hehe thanks for replying

Hi Isargle,
I put up a pic of my dog, Ralph, did you see it? He thinks he is king of the world. Hope you can get some pics of your Pom.
I see you live in Australia. I used to raise emu and I understand there are a lot of emu there. When I first saw an emu, I thought it was the ugliest bird I had ever seen. But after I started raising them, I changed my mind and thought they were cute. Some of them can be very loving.
Do you plan on getting any more dogs?
Thanks for writing, chat later!

Just saw this forum & thought I would join as we share our house with 33 rescued dogs !! The smallest is Patch the Jack Russell cross to Simon who is a Bull Mastiff X Great Dane. There are 6 German Shephards too - so basically I never get a chair when I get home from work !
(They are not left alone when I am at work in case you are wondering!)
Would be nice to meet others who have lots of rescued dogs or even just one!

Unfortunately i dont have pictures of my pup on my laptop as I have only had her four weeks but i will try to get some on. She is a 9 month old American Bulldog called Gracie and she is gorgeous. I love het ro bits and have successfully taught her Sit, Stay, Lay Down and Heel :) i would love to talk to somebody who is interested in the breed. I also have two family dogs, Gracie's brother Boots, who has that name as he has four white legs, and 11 year old Bull Mastiff, Murphy, who is very old for his breed but still going strong.

On the tea problem you could find that the tea had leaked on to the circuit board tracks was there sugar in your tea as this would make the problem worse? If you had cleaned most of it off your lap top and removed any poer source ( mains or battery) then you have a much better chance that all will be ok :)

hi ive come to show off my dogs aswell, im also getting a new dog soon so will post that pic when i get him
here is lady (welsh sheepdog bitch, just turned 1)
srry i cnt put the pics on idnt know how
and i have a staffordshire bull terrier dog who is elleven at the moment and he is a complete pansy this is a good story and it shows that not all dogs are nasty its just the owners and how they bring them up
well, the story start by....i found him out side my house wondering around the street so i asked my mum if we could take him to the vets to see if he had a microchip (which is what i normally do when i find a dog, as i rescue dogs as a hobby) and so we took him down to pets at home which has a veterinary practise at the back of it, we went there because it is only around the corner so it wasnt that long for the dog, when we got there they scanned him and he had a microchip and we got in contact with the people that owned him and i live in cardiff and the owners lived in ebbw vale which is a very far from cardiff to say the least and so we talked to them and they said they didnt want him therefore i managed to persuade my mum to keep him as he was already in bad shape and i could let him get worse and he took to me like a fish to water, so when we got home he settled in like he knew the house like the back of his paw, well 6 yrs had past and he turned elleven and the march after he turned elleven someone had stolen my brand new laptop that i had been given off of my mum for christmas and we knew the burgaler so it made it twice as bad and trigger let the burgalar in as he knew him and being trigger he licked him to death, that is how stupid and soft he is.

07-27-2008, 11:22 PM
Hi! I am the proud owner of Flecksable Flyer, a German Shorthaired Pointer, and Klondike Bear, a Great Pyrenees.
I adopted Flecks after my 10yo Giant Schnauzer was killed by a hunter the first day of deer season. I was doing rescue waiting until the next dog found me. Flecks was found wandering the interstate in Kansas by a cyber-friend, barely missing becoming highway fondu. When she told me about the dog, I couldn't stand the thought of a perfectly healthy dog being put down for no reason, so I told her to call the local vet where she dropped her off, and let them know that if they would hold her till the weekend when I would have the weekend off work, I'd drive out and pick her up. Since my friend was retired, and wanted to meet me anyway, she offered to bring her out to me, so I got to meet her and the dog! It was love at first sight, and she fit right in with our other 5 dogs. She eventually became my 4-H demo dog when I was an obedience and agility leader for 4 years. Little did I know that it was the perfect set-up to becoming the mobility service dog I would need when I became disabled from my arthritis and fybromiaglya. She has been serving me as a service dog for 4 years now, but at 9 years old, she is looking forward to retirement.
http://i21.photobucket.com/albums/b285/flecksable_flyer/Flecks/b72763cd.jpg
I adopted Klondike just this week. He is 2 years old, and knows absolutely nothing other than being housebroken and he's starting to pick up his name. I got him for free out of our local seller's paper. I don't know how I did it, but I was the first call! I have been looking for a long time to find another dog to start training because Flecks is starting to get arthritis.
He lived in a home with 6 small children, but apparently no one took the time to actually do any training with him. He doesn't walk on a leash, he barely sits, but he does crave attention, which means he'll do anything to please! He's the sweetest guy, he just has never been taught how to handle his bulk. He's learning quickly that standing in your lap does not rate attention.
He's also at least 40# underweight (they were feeding him really cheap food :(), so he will probably feel better once there is some muscle under all that hair. He's already been to the dr's office, the bank, and the grocery store and did not embarrass himself, so he is off to a great start! :thumbsupsmiley:

I live in the Southwest USA. We have 3 dogs. We have 2 German Shepherds one 10 yrs old. Her name is Cheyenne. The other one is 18 mos. old. Her name is Dakota. And we have a black mixed breed that we got from a shelter. The shelter said he was Shepherd mix. But our vet thinks he is a black Lab mix. He doesn't look anything like a Shepherd. We think he is about 5-6 months old. We love all dogs, but our favorites are German Shepherds and Dobies. We have had mixed breeds and purebred Dogs. The 2 GS we have now are purebreds.

Hello, new here! I have a mixed dog we adopted from a shelter several years ago that is now 8 1/2. I believe she is a mixture of Austrailan Shepard / flat coated retriever. I would like to get one of those doggie DNAs to actually satisfy my curiosities one day.
And the newest love of my life, my nine week puppy whom I got last week, Riley! I waited a month to finally get him. He is a purposely bred Cavalier King Charles / Shih Tzu. I picked him out from a private breeder whom had raised him in their home. He has the sweetest disposition. I had wanted to get a mixed puppy that had Cavalier KC Spaniel in him. With him being bred with both breeds being companion dogs he is quite the little lover!
I have been coming on this site for the past week and found that this may be just the place to get some questions answered. And some much great information from people who really know their doggie info!!!
Let me introduce my dogs:

hi everyone... my puppy is going to be six months on Sept. 3rd and her name is Kiara. I have no clue what breed she is. The momma was 1/2 Blue Tick and 1/2 Pitbull terrier. The mom got "had" by some stray dogs in the area and Kiara was conceived.
She has pointed up ears and a curly tail with medium length fur. She's about 51 1/2 lbs now and seems to only be getting bigger. If anyone knows what she could be....just let me know.
So, there you have it.. I am happy to meet everyone.

I just stumbled upon this site tonight, and so far I'm really enjoying myself. Here's some pictures of my boys-
This is Sam, he's a 10 year old Miniature Schnauzer

This is Sidy Boy (pronounced City Boy), he's an 8 year old Miniature Schnauzer

Scamp- 4 year old Miniature Schnauzer

Joey-7 year old Miniature Schnauzer. I've only had him since last spring- his previous owner had cancer and could no longer care for him, so I took in Joey

And then the Weimaraner, Oliver. I adopted him from the humane shelter a couple of years ago. He's about 4 years old now.

Hello LoveofBreeds and welcome to you and Sam, SidyBoy, Scamp, Joey, and Oliver (whew) You sure seem to have a houseful! :-)
Welcome to all the new users from me too!
I'm sorry I always have very little time to read and answer (it takes me some times to answer in English...) to all the threads in this period, so I'm missing all the new members introductions...

Hi,
Great to find a site where everyone is as mad as I am about my dogs.
I have two beautiful rescure Greyhounds that we have adopted. Checke 6 year old female and Biscuit a 6 month old (now desexed Yah!) male puppy. I have Biscuit doing Obeidence and we are having a ball. When he is old enough we will be doing agility. Checke is our princess so she just looks beautiful as all Greyhounds do.

Hi,
My names Johnny, i have two terriers Jack and Fred, a Champion Border and Patterdale Cross.
Two pics at play and rest :)
Freed the patterdale is a handful outsiode the house but Jack now much bigger is probably the best behaved dog i think we could have wished for. The nature of borders seems to be so laid back its unbelievable, loyal and lovable.

I just adopted a puppy mill rescued dog. Son3 is 7 yrs. old that had no clue of potty training. I've been focusing on consistancy in feeding him and taking him outside to make his business and I'm seeing improvements days later. I also would like to share with you some devices that are available that can help with male dog marking, full urinations or for those that can't control what happens at either end a suspendered outfit can trap what falls and a poise pad can fit inside of it. Email me and I can share the info. with you. Rescues and shelters find that having quality devices available can make a difference in their surrenders.

I adopted a puppy mill rescue Pug, he's 7 yrs. old and I love him. In 4 days he has come a long way in learning to play, enjoy the outdoors, eat, sleep, and begin his house training. I'll have to take some pics to share. Son3 has a beautiful silver coat and in spirit has the same aura as my 15 yr., 3 mos. old Pug that I lost to terminal cancer in Aug.

Hi. New here and hoping for lots of help with my son's cross breed. The son has moved out and failed to give his forwarding address to the stupid mutt. *sigh*
Actually, despite the fact that I would never have got this dog for myself ( I am a staffy lover and would love one again), I adore him. My main problem with him is the fact that he is waaaaay more intelligent than me. Obviously I have been trained to a high standard, but there are just a few tiny things I would like the dog to learn.
