My puppy is about 7 months. About a month ago her adult teeth started coming in, but some of her baby teeth did not fall out. The vet said if they don't fall out in 2-3 months they will have to be pulled. I would like to avoid that at all costs! The teeth are loose and some are falling out. She had a Pedigree Jumbone last night and a tooth got loose enough to fall out, but no chew toys like Nylabones seem to help. Any suggestions on things I can give her/do to help along the process of losing her baby teeth?

You can give it a gentle wiggle if its loose, also try a knuckle bone. Some breeds are slower at teething than others.

What is a knuckle bone? I don't think I've ever heard of those.

Our pup seemed to have one or two teeth that hung in by a thread for a few days, but they eventually all fell out on their own. Like lassis suggested, a gentle helping hand from time to time and plenty of available chew toys is just about all you can do to help nature along. Hopefully things will run their course well before the vet's deadline approaches.

You could try soaking a rope knot toy in either weak beef stock or broth, then freezing it and giving it her to chew. Not only will it help the loose teeth to come out, it will ease any pain for her too.

re the vet - a few baby teeth are not the end of the world, if you really don't want her to have them pulled then tell them, I shouldn't imagine it would be a problem...

Thanks for all of the good advice. I will definitely look for a knuckle bone and will also try freezing her rope toy, both great suggestions!

Yes, you should provide a knuckle bone, and perhaps some cold toys (Put a hard rubber teething toy in the freezer for a little while) :)

Try not to worry baby teeth usually come out on their own but if you can help a little by giving them a wee wiggle when they get loose and a nice big bone to chew on and ofcourse plenty of cuddles for they do feel sorry for themselves. Hope they all come out soon.

Hi. Not so great. The teeth, especially on the bottom are really crowded. She did lose some, but I'm concerned about the front ones. I've been trying everything . . . giving her all sorts of things to chew on.
