Possible TMI grooming question

Do groomers normally express the anal glands without asking if you want it done? We have had Hemi groomed twice now since we've owned him and after each time he would drag his bottom around a little and ack annoyed with it. These two days have been the only time I've seen him do it since we got him in mid August. I wasn't sure if the timing was coincidence or if he was possibly reacting to something that happened at the groomer's. TIA!

Does the groomer trim the area around his butt? That is most likely whats annoying him, Kali always scoots after going to the groomers, or if I trim her myself. She will also rub her face along the sofa, until I give her a good face scratching,(I really don't want to scratch her butt, so I let her scoot.) My groomer will do anal glads if I ask her to. Just ask next time you go.
