Hi, We have a 5 month old Black Lab who had shoulder surgery 2 weeks ago. Per the Dr.'s strict instructions; he has been in his crate at all times since the operation, only being let out 3 times a day for eating and trips outside. The Dr. insists on 4 more weeks of basically the same until he can return to his "normal" everyday activities.
My question is this: will he suffer any psycological setbacks from all of this crating. He is not being punished but it is necessary for his own recovery. As stressful as it is for us, it is just as stressful for him since he is so young and just wants to play. We want him to return to the mellow demeanor he had before.
Any thoughts?????
