It would depend on what part of the world you are in, of course. On the AKC site, you can get a list of Sheltie breeders:

Good luck with your search. :)

The American Shetland Sheepdog Association (the AKC parent club) website should be a great place to begin. Here's just a sample of what they have to offer in education and information.
http://www.assa.org/
BREEDERS NETWORK
The people listed under each Region are knowledgeable about Shetland Sheepdogs, and have been designated by the ASSA as a point of contact for Sheltie Breeder Referrals. They can inform and advise callers about the breed as well as provide the names of reputable members of region who are breeders and who may have puppies and/or older dogs available for sale; or who are expecting litters in the near future.
Please note: that as a member of an ASSA Member Club, these people may, or may not be, members of the ASSA; but in no circumstance does the ASSA, its Member Club(s), or these people guarantee or warrant their services or the quality or health of the dogs which may be purchased from breeders in their areas.

What is the ASSA Regional Mentoring Program?
Specifically, the program is designed to provide anyone who has a genuine interest in, and commitment to Shelties with one-on-one education, guidance, assistance, and referral services. These services may relate to any aspect of raising, training, exhibiting, or responsible breeding practices. Whether you are seeking your first Sheltie companion and want to know more about the joys and responsibilities of pet ownership; are a current Sheltie owner seeking health care or training tips; are a new breeder; or a novice competitor in agility, conformation, flyball, herding, obedience or tracking (to name a few competition venues) the program has something to offer you

Go to a local dog show and go meet the sheltie people. They will help you get intouch with good breeders.
And, yes, it will help to put all of this into one thread! :)

Hi Gypsy ... maybe this site can help you locate a breeder
http://www.kennels.co.uk/Pastoral/ShetlandSheepdog.html
Also if your near any local all breed shows in your part of the UK its a good way to check out the breed and meet people in the breed.
