I have a siberian husky, she is 9 months old. When I purchased her from the breeder I was told to use a harness. She is now so strong, she pulls so hard, that walking is very hard work!!!!!! I am now getting conflicting advice on what to use, a gentle leader,a canny collar, a half check collar.I dont know what is best for my dog.Can anyone help?????

reggie pulled but we got him a head lead from the amount of pulling he did to now he walks ok on the lead. we are still thinking of getting a body harness so he can not pull at all.

I found with Rudy a harness worked for about 1 month then he was pulling like mad again. A Halti worked much better, I would try that.

I would think that it is in her breed to pull...just my opinion....I would suggest obedience classes.....

Full harnesses that are around their back give the dog MORE power.. I was told to use them as I used to have to walk my two dogs in the city adn they are both VERY strong. Anyway, I bought harnesses and they could all of a sudden pull me down with out hardly trying.. SO DON'T get a harness if they are pulling too much, they need a halty.. What worked best for me was the gentle leader because they can't pull at all!!! Now I'm on a farm so it doesn't matter...

I use Dogmatic Headcollar and lead and I find them really good, to stop them pulling. I used a halti to begin with but although thid worked it rose up into the fogs eye, I find the Dogmatic much better. If you are in the UK these are available on line, not sure if they can be sent to the USA or Canada but you could check the website. Hope whatever you try works out for you and your husky.
